Individual liberty, free market capitalism, limited government, and the rule of law have seldom existed throughout human history. But, when they did, the people were vastly more happy and life was exceedingly better for all.

You don't realize that Socialism is just another form of tyranny by the power elite. Very much like the monarchies and dictatorships that litter human history. Socialism provides that the individual is meaningless, without rights, and completely expendable. And the elite control everything. If only you and your kind understood this.

No you dolt. The colonists ALREADY occupied and owned the territory. They fought for liberty and independence from a tyrannical king. They fought so as to rule their own colonies, rather than allowing a tyrant to rule...I know tyrants are much more to your liking. They did not like the high taxation and burdensome rules arbitrarily imposed by the king. You no doubt would have sided with the King had you existed then.
