I admit that I don't know God's overall plan. I, nor any other human being, know when or why God did this or that. Personally, I don't care. I don't try to explain how He works His will or why. What I do know is this: When I read the words of Christ, I see beauty and decency! His love towards all of humanity is obvious! I see nothing in Christ's teachings with which a person of good-will could intelligently disagree. There may be evil people who claim to be Christian. If they are indeed evil people, they are NOT obeying the teachings of Christ!
You can argue unimportant little terms and religious dogmas, and you can impune the apparent inconsistencies all you want. Such arguments, however, are meaningless in the whole scheme of things. The teachings of Christ are pure truths that are uncontestable by people of good will and worthy intentions. If you want to debate the teachings of Christ, you'll be hard-pressed defending positions that oppose them! You should concentrate on the really important things, not those that are irrelevant.
Jesus's "sacrifice" is now something that is not important? Seems to me what your saying is, don't bother with details and questioning things...just believe it and ignore anything that does not make sense to you. Also while you may see that Beauty and decency and love of all humanity when you see the bible...when I see a large chunk of his Followers I see none of those things...I see hate, intolerance, and I don't see a love of Humanity...I see a love of only people who are like them...Not from the US...don't care...wrong Religion..don't care....Even your own post without thinking I am sure...basically says that all Jews, Muslims, Buddhist, Hindu...are not of good will or worthy intentions....When my sis tried to go to church with a friend of ours to give it a try as it was important to her friend...my sister was basically called a idiot for not believing by the priest...I have gone quite a few times with my Fiancée...more then a few times indirectly I have called cold hearted and basically told I would burn in hell...Oddly not the best way to bring people into a church...
Sometimes it think Christians , at least here, think to much about others..and don't do enough looking at them self and what they present to others...because its often not love, and any of that.
