I hear you. However this implied symmetry is not quite accurate. Here, let me pose a series of short questions. For each of those identify the people who were against these changes as either liberal or conservative:
- voting rights for women
- voting rights for blacks
- women in military
- blacks in military
- gays in military
- gays in classrooms
- minimum wage
- choice
- religious freedom
I know you are trying to say “Republicans”! Trump was democrat before he came into politics. Whomever tried to stop those issues in the past is not our issues until only when SOME for elections. make it about race, women, bigotry etc. It will always be the same issues and more added to list as time passes!
I was in school for the 70s, changing schools in mid year United with blacks. I was always the one to ask my mom, why a black side or white side at a doc’s office etc. We spoke to all! Some white and black over time did not let it go as some today keep the prejudices going!
Gay was hidden then! Trans? We went to Mardi Gras, you know the rest! It was then as well but not the right time I guess!
Is there any right time for anything for anyone?
I registered as Republican this year. In my state I could have stayed as is because we can vote for the person not a PARTY! That’s the problem! People vote for a PARTY! Why is Kennedy an independent now? Because he felt his party has lost their way from his father’s and uncle’s beliefs.
Will always have divide. Beliefs are taught and actions are shown. My word salad is…
“We are all where we are today because of ourselves”!
Not because of anyone else! We all have our choices. Harris, Trump, Powell, Bush, Rice, Clintons, Kennedy, Tim Scott, Ben Carson, Oprah, Obama, Tom Brady, etc! They are all where they are because they worked for it! It’s a choice!
Makes sense? Probably not! What does? lol!
