The Night They Dumbed Our Country Down

Are you kidding? Are you trying to say that, because I have a bachelor in econ, the only thing I'm good for is go for an MBA?

Well, I also have a bachelor in psychology, and I did go for the MBA. . for one year. I couldn't stand it! I wanted to go into human resources, and the only thing I was being taught in the "human resources concentration" was how to help the corporation screw their employees. . .without being caught!

So, after a full year of MBA studies, I switched to the School of Social Work in the same university (San Jose State). . .and I loved it, because I was able to use ALL my skills (including my econs sense) to help people.

Would you like me to scan my diplomas and send them to yomu in a PM?

You only have to say the word! I might even attach my Phi Beta Kappa certificate!

well that explains a few things.

no I don't want to risk viruses with a file on the boards server. I have no problem believing you attended collage or that you could "obtain" a pdf. moot point.

lots of things you could do with a degree in econ but social work isn't one of them. it would have sufficed to say you also had a degree in a related field.

You're so weird! You just can't admit in a gracious fashion that a lowly "social worker" could have at least as much education than a "business major!"

And I resent your inference that I would "obtain" a pdf!

Maybe I'll send you through a pm my full name, and you can go look on the web for publications with that name?

By the way, having a double degree in very different field, and honors in both degree, and Phi Beta Kappa does open MANY doors in the academic field. . .Upper quintile results on GRE and GMAT also help to secure a place in almost any graduate programs.

But with your focus on greed and your narrow definition of "success" relating only to "money," i am not surprise that it is difficult for you to believe that anyone would give up income for vocation!

I seem to recall telling you your field of work had value.

Sure. . . Easy to see how much social work is valued. . . only look at the pay!

I was just lucky because I didn't have to concern myself with how much money I made or didn't make. . .because my husband concerned himself with "making the money!"

if you are unhappy about your compensation remember you chose it with full knowledge.

Did I say I was unhappy about MY compensation?

I am unhappy for all the people who would make excellent social worker, and those who are social workers, but whose important work is being discarded and devalued because of the emphasis on "material worth" and the use of "income" as a determinant of a person's "hard work" and "worthiness!"

Otherwise, as a (at that time) 1%er, my compensations were just the "icing on the cake" for my family, so they were not an issue.

And today, I am retired, and no longer a 1%er, so compensations are immaterial to me personally!

C'mon, that was downright idiotic. How on earth do you think Obama hung the middle class out to dry ? The fatcats and the corporations did that. Are you uneducated ?

His video was just as well done as yours. His opinion is just as valuable as yours and just because its different than yours doesn't mean you should use words like idiotic and uneducated to describe him or his video.

That was a very nice video

That is a very good video.

But to the leftist, BO is not responsible. Capitalism and Bush are responsible for the weak economy. No amount of logic will change them. They chose to believe lies.

America has been a mixture of capitalism (lots of crony capitalism included) and socialism for many decades, while the Fed government's power has grown exponentially. Lefties do not know this, so they ignorantly conclude capitalism is at fault.

They do not understand that a huge omnipresent coercive socialist fed gov IS THE PROBLEM. They think business, wealthy, banks and Wall Street are the problem because the left elite tell them this and they dutifully believe. It is completely illogical to think this way, but they do.

Liberalism and logic can't exist together.

His context was similar to saying Obama started the Vietnam War, it was that goofy. His opinion is not valuable when he discredited himself completely in the first verse.

Bush took over with a government surplus and the previous administration creating a huge amount of jobs. He left bailing out the banks and with the country on the brink of depression, the worst financial situation since the 30s. Your logic doesn't include that. Your version of "logic" is rightwing Limbaugh loon dogma.

And that alone makes someone the best President of our lifetime? Don't worry that the economy is horrible and there are no jobs...we got Bin Laden...I mean come on.

For the record, I just noticed that you completely misquoted me here. I never said Obama is the best president of our lifetime. I said he is the best commander-in-chief in our lifetime. Big, big difference.

Fair enough. However I think the bar is set pretty low if those actions alone make him the best in our lifetime.
