There is nothing mad about removing statues which were erected precisely to threaten free Black citizens. There is no reason any city's residents should have to tolerate statues of pro slavery traitors daily that were erected to threaten them.

Suppose some government erected a statue mocking Jesus to scare religious fanatics like you into ceasing to vote.

Robert E Lee and the governments of nine Southern States declared themselves independent of the the rest of ou country and fought the US military for 4 and half years to defend slavery, you stupid, stupid schmuck.

They were not patriots, they were traitors. And we should not honor their memory with heroic statues.
