Obviously since the mentally ill use handguns to commit crimes if the solution is to remove their first amendment rights then the logical step even before taking guns from the mentally is would be to ban black Americans from owning guns. Anyone got a problem with that?

The high crime rate is exactly why people cowering in their homes in their homes should have guns if they want them. Most of the gun crimes are committed in certain neighborhoods and by certain people. And not the mentally ill who commit no more crimes than the mentally healthy. If one can't avoid the bad areas then one would be wise to carry a weapon.
