Who Shouldnt Have Guns?

Why don't you just admit that you have fallen in love with me.

Redneck cowboys like you aren't particularly attractive to human beings. Low iq and that malodorous stench you reek suggests a company fit only for cows.

HEEE-HAW!

Who are you to determine the tolerance level of anybody? Who are you to decide the level of trust or distrust of anyone but yourself. Who are you to decide how I choose to protect my family and myself? Carrying a gun isn't good protection? It depends on the circumstances. Sometimes running away from an as assailant doesn't work, sometimes hitting the assailant in the head with a loaf of french bread doesn't work either.

Who I am shouldn't be the focus of as much concern as the STATISTICS THAT SUPPORT MY ARGUMENT.

Childproof? The only thing anyone can do is take reasonable precautions to prevent children from handling guns. There no such thing as absolute. Children's ability to access cars can't be absolutely prevented. Nor medicines.

I've had several friends loose their lives in car accidents, I don't advocate getting rid of cars or preventing anyone from driving one because of a tragedy.

What on god's green earth are you talking about????

UNLIKE GUNS, CARS AND MEDICINE ARE NOT MADE FOR KILLING SOMEBODY.

When you say that guns are for self-defense, you omit the FACT THAT YOU ARE EMPLOYING LETHAL FORCE TO DETER YOUR ASSAILANT.

Under the legal definition of self-defense, such a thing is INVALID. To be valid, self-defense MUST CONFORM WITH THE PRINICIPLE OF NON-CULPABLE SELF-DEFENSE.

Bad bi-polar type people with Nazi tattoos should not have guns. After watching Forensic Files, I think all little-old ladies and single females should have guns. You never know what is lurking around the corner.

In an ideal world, we could pass some law that would keep all bad people from having access to guns. However, in the real world and especially in the U.S., where there are already millions of guns just passing some law intended to fix the problem does not work. Note that we already have laws to stop access to narcotics and they are still in plentiful supply. Even if a complete ban were to be passed, because of the demand by the "bad people" and good people who just want to protect themselves, hunt, target practice, compete with guns, there would still be a demand.

Threats of incarceration would not work for people caught with guns inasmuch as our prison system is already overburdened. We cannot afford to imprison millions of otherwise honest gun owners.

Well that would do the trick alright. But I have shot one of these monsters, I dont find them practical to the real world in this sense. Strapping something that heavy and long to your hip or chest for long periods will wreck one's back. Plus I am a shooter, I shoot all the time, I have no desire to practice with that wrist cracker.

I carry a full sized Glock model 21 in .45acp. Has worked for me to this point. Ill take my chances with it.

I'm with you there Bunz, a couple of 45s rapped off and decent shot placement would at least make him think twice.

Here's the big wheel gun in action...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JqOeDW5wu_E&NR=1

Well that is just it, I often get into the best bear protection gun debate. It is often with someone who has a large frame revolver with a hotter round than the .44mag. I make sure that I practice regularly with my pistol. I can(hopefully under stress) empty a magazine confidently into a 5 gallon bucket from 50 feet.
So, when compared to those who carry hand cannons, I am much more confident in shooting my pistol and know that I can accurately engage the target successfully to ensure the threat is no longer a threat. No flinch from me. Just lead down range.
Plus I would rather have 13 rounds than 5-6. So, one can have a pocket artillery piece, but if they dont feel comfortable using it in the least stressful of situations there is no way they expect to do so under the very most stressful situations.

If I am attacked by a bear, and I have my pistol which is more than capable of stopping a bear, and cant stop it with 13 rounds of 45acp, well wipe my a$$ and call me lunch.

That's and excellent weapon Bunz. One of my old friends who's wife happens to be a deputy sheriff has the 9mm Glock with the laser marker sighting feature. You see that red dot on you... it gets your attention quick... :)

I sold off most of my handguns and only get out to the farm to target practice a couple times a year now.

I kept two... one light one heavy. A 380 Beretta... nice light & accurate point and shot type weapon but not much knock down power.

Then I have old faithful my Dan Wesson 357 Pistol Pack with it's briefcase and all 4 interchangeable barrels 2.5" - 4" - 6" & 8" and two sets of grips. Powerful, dependable, acurrate... but bulky with the longer barrels.

If I really carried a gun (not for Bear ) I'd probably have a Glock or the 9mm Beretta.

That Dan Wessons a neat gun as well. I regret selling a 6" barrel Colt King Cobra in .357, I dig revolvers. Also sold a 92FS Inox in 9mm, I needed money for a new deer rifle. For hand guns, all I have now is a Ruger Competition .22 MarkII and a 9mm P239 Sig.
