Putin is not Lenin, nor is he a Communist. He is a plutocrat and an oligarch. Russia is NOT a communist nation and hasn't been one since the 1990's. He does seem to own Donald Trump. I think there are plenty of people who know very well how much he owns.
He claims to be a devout Russian Orthodox Christian. He had the entire last Russian Tsar Nicolas II and his entire family canonized as saints. The Orthodox Church supports him in the same way it supported the Tsar.
