Any testimony is evidence. It is subjective evidence and not empirical evidence. We just need to keep in mind Which is which without disparaging either. They both have their place.

Considering the demands most christians have made over time for proof of evolution for which there is a ton of evidence I think that their expectation that their own claims are supportable by faith is both ludicrous and hypocritical.

I believe in evolution. And yes there is a lot of evidence for it. There are also some holes and some distortions and times when the evidence is taken to support a conclusion that is just stretching. It makes sense to evaluate evolution in scientific terms and it makes sense to evaluate testimony in terms of logic and internal consistency.

Religions are not consistent with other religions - eg Islam does not posit the existence of Ganesh the Elephant god of hinduism.

Therefore, only one or none can be correct, and many millions of people worship gods which don't exist.

Does one start with the energy or the matter first?

There is always the possibility that God made the energy and the matter out of himself: the entire universe is made of God. Perhaps he saves his haircut and toenail clippings and turns them into energy or matter.

There is a name for this, it is not my original idea. It is called Pantheism. Look it up!

What proof do you have that "God" can create energy or matter?

Every day, humans convert matter (such as natural gas) into energy (heat to cook with). Every day humans convert kinetic energy with electric generators and alternators. Where do the electrons come from? If you weigh a generator or an alternator after it produces electricity, you will see that is weighs the same.

the sheer number of religions are staggering and not all of them believe there is a god of any type.
Even those who practice some forms of witchcraft such as wiccan also do not have gods so to speak.
