Obama demands we work to change climate despite no evidence man can change it

There have been numerous times in history that single natural events - like volcanoes, and termites - have singlhandedly spewed more CO2 into the air than all of humanities collective actions.

Then this should be easy enough for you to prove with some links to the data that supports your statements. Or is this going to be one of your; "...drive by and see the windows open...", kind of statement?

And of course, all the other windows are still closed indicating that those residents just turned the thermostat down. And, of course you can tell which buildings have residents who do not pay directly for gas, just by driving by. Good "scientific" analysis going on here.

I have seen it and many windows are open not just one or two.

And in Illinois it is a state law that renters must be provided with free heat so it is easy to tell that apartment buildings have free heat and single family homes most likely do not.

It must have been a VERY long day. Now poor little topgun can't even tell the difference between carbon dioxide that doesn't pollute, and carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, particulates and other exhaust components that do.

Or maybe he was just busy trying his experiment himself, before typing his latest post...?? :D :D

I was having a talk with my mechanic the other day about just this topic. He and I had both heard that the newer cars take far too long to poison anyone to make it a practical way of suicide.

Nevertheless, just because something will kill you does not mean that it is a pollutant. E.g. too much oxygen and too much water will both kill you.

"Not only is carbon dioxide's total greenhouse effect puny, mankind's contribution to it is minuscule. The overwhelming majority (97%) of carbon dioxide in the earth's atmosphere comes from nature, not from man. Volcanoes, swamps, rice paddies, fallen leaves, and even insects and bacteria produce carbon dioxide, as well as methane. According to the journal Science (Nov. 5, 1982), termites alone emit ten times more carbon dioxide than all the factories and automobiles in the world. Natural wetlands emit more greenhouse gases than all human activities combined. (If greenhouse warming is such a problem, why are we trying to save all the wetlands?) Geothermal activity in Yellowstone National Park emits ten times the carbon dioxide of a midsized coal-burning power plant, and volcanoes emit hundreds of times more. In fact, our atmosphere's composition is primarily the result of volcanic activity. There are about 100 active volcanoes today, mostly in remote locations, and we're living in a period of relatively low volcanic activity. There have been times when volcanic activity was ten times greater than in modern times. But by far the largest source of carbon dioxide emissions is the equatorial Pacific Ocean. It produces 72% of the earth's emissions of carbon dioxide, and the rest of the Pacific, the Atlantic, the Indian Ocean, and the other oceans also contribute. The human contribution is overshadowed by these far larger sources of carbon dioxide."

Now about windows:

According to this government report in one federal housing facility a campaign to get residents to be more energy efficient resulted in 8% of the residents closing windows or turning down the thermostat resulting in a 10% savings of energy.

That was on page 15. The only difficulty is that they asked about both closing windows and turning down the thermostat. Find out how much of the savings was from turning down the thermostat and you will know that the other part was from closing windows.

"...links to data..."
That is not a link to research data interpreted by scientists, that was a link to a conservative author's personal interpretation.

This had nothing to do with "...residents of housing that did not pay for their own heat..." This had to do with families and military personal at For Lewis Washington. It may or may not be applicable to civilian residents of an apartment building owned by a civilian privet party. Also, because a window is open does not mean that the heat is still on and that the resident is opting to use the window to control the heat instead of the thermostat. It is your own personal conjecture. When my windows are open to let in cool fresh air, it does not have anything to do with who pays for the gas. It is ridiculous on your part to assume that the tenant finds it easier to open the window than to turn down the thermostat.

40 years since the first Earth Day. And still not a shred of proof that man has had anything to do with climate change. Lots of insistence that it's so... but without proof. Lots of changes of subjects in threads like this.

And still not a shred of proof that man has anything to do with climate change.

Demands by govt that we now change it, are fatuous and hysterical. There's a reason that is so.

You tell yourself that.

Hysterical?

You mean that gov guy from Japan saying that the next olympics will be the last?
