Biden's $2 trillion deficit proves the democrat narrative about a booming economy is a lie

When employment is the highest ever and all the stock market indicators are at an all time high, THAT is a "booming economy".
Increases in hiring in the government sector is driving the high employment numbers as well as the high deficit numbers in the economy.

The same things that Trump claimed made his very brief pre-Covid economy so successful were low unemployment and a booming stock market. But when Biden has even lower unemployment and a much more booming stock market, then that is somehow entirely different?

What Biden has that Trump did not have is higher inflation, higher costs of living, heavier regulatory burdens, and a higher national deficit and debt.

I don't believe you are right.

The deficit has fallen under Joe Biden. It’s still higher than before the pandemic.

During Trump’s presidency, the deficit rose from $666 billion in 2017, his first year in office, to $984 billion in 2019, his third year.

But the coronavirus pandemic sent the annual deficit into record territory. In 2020, Trump’s fourth year, the deficit skyrocketed to $3.13 trillion, largely because of government stimulus payments, unemployment insurance expansions, business operation grants and increased funding for public health.

The deficit remained high in 2021, another significant pandemic year. That year, the newly elected Biden signed the American Rescue Plan Act, which provided more money for the pandemic response. In 2021, the deficit fell but remained historically high, at $2.78 trillion.

Before democrats gained control of the budget writing in the House Trump's deficit was $666 billion. After democrats took over the budgeting for the US, deficits rose to $3.13 trillion and have been high ever since. Of course democrats blame Trump for the high deficits they ran up but that is what dishonest politicians do in order to make themselves look better that their opponents before elections.

Clearly, the US budget is controlled by Congress, not the President.

United States budget process

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The United States budget process is the framework used by Congress and the President of the United States to formulate and create the United States federal budget. The process was established by the Budget and Accounting Act of 1921,
the Congressional Budget and Impoundment Control Act of 1974.

Prior to 1974, Congress had no formal process for establishing a federal budget. When President Richard Nixon began to refuse to spend funds that Congress had allocated, they adopted a more formal means by which to challenge him. The Congressional Budget Act of 1974 created the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), which gained more control of the budget, limiting the power of the President's Office of Management and Budget (OMB). The Act passed easily while the administration was embroiled in the Watergate scandal and was unwilling to provoke Congress.

Discretionary spending

Discretionary spending requires an annual appropriation bill, which is a piece of legislation. Discretionary spending is typically set by the House and Senate Appropriations Committees and their various subcommittees. Since the spending is typically for a fixed period (usually a year), it is said to be under the discretion of the Congress. Some appropriations last for more than one year (see Appropriation bill for details). In particular, multi-year appropriations are often used for housing programs and military procurement programs.

Let's rehearse the facts. Democrats took over the budgeting process in 2019 befoe the pandemic, resulting in the high deficit congress created in 2020. This is from the Wikipedia article:

The Congressional Budget Act of 1974 created the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), which gained more control of the budget, limiting the power of the President's Office of Management and Budget (OMB).

We should give more credit to the CBO for high budget deficits since Congress limited the OMB in the 1974 Congressional Budget Act.

there is nothing to rehearse.

the budget deficit while trump was president set a record.

stop defending trump's record deficit.

Poor Mark is, alas a dummy. Trump knows he lost, but Mark actually believes that Trump won.
Trump's deficit clearly had an impact on inflation. Seven trillion dollars of debt has clearly caused inflation.
And he wants to do it again. Trump's budget proposal is predicted to raise the national debt by twice as much as Kamala's.

recovery from thee pandemic liberals keep forgetting that part
