You do still occasionally mention the old idea that Liberals parties represent the working class. In the case of the American Democrats that is long gone. Now they want to REFORM the worker. No wonder most working class Americans this cycle vote Republican. Democrats are the party of the minorities and the smug IMO. YOU Liberal writers always seem quite reasonable and persuasive at first glance. The problem is not what you say but what you don't say. Most of your beliefs are so not factual (all men are equal, all men are brothers ) and to be a Liberal you have to have a talent for blotting out from your mind facts that don't suit you. So that's what I see, A very selective view of reality. Let me clarify, In Gods eye all men are equal. But here on earth the poor you shall have always.

Some stations my add a few cents of additives at the holding tank, but that is it. I used to drive gas truck so don't even try to ********* me on the topic.

As for selling the oil on the open market, they don't get anymore for it that the Saudi's do. When I was driving truck I used to pick up a product, say Brach's candy, in Chicago, haul it to Boston, then move three doors over, and load the same product, and haul it to LA. Kind of like hauling shrimp to Galveston from Gloucester, and then hauling shrimp from Galveston to Gloucester.

All it does is add to the cost of the product, and increases the profit. And when your profit is 93 Billion dollars it is obvious that the 6.5% is more then enough.

Besides that, isn't it the right wingers like you that keep whining about "energy independence"? You want to drill all over Yellowstone National Park, yet you don't want to use the glut of oil we already have.

Why do we need to reduce energy demand ?
My grandfather was a depression era carpenter. Meaning no power saws, power drills, lifts, digging by shovel etc. And the result was him becoming an invalid from the wear and tear.

Yes. . .and you do realise that alternatives are already available and will become more available, more efficient and cheaper (if you consider that the price of oil . . .or its derivative is NOT ONLY MONEY, but LIVES, including lives of Marines!) then fuel.

Hybrid are already very efficients. Electric cars are becoming main street's darlings.

Yes, they are more expensive. Why? Because the motor industry wants it that way. . .because the oil industry wants it that way. Because the OIL INDUSTRY's lobbyists are so powerful that they obtain the bulk of all subsidies for energy, instead of turning to research and development for more environmentally friendly energy sources and the products that would use the new energy.

An exemple of how research and development makes life better, more efficient, and at a lower price? ELECTRIC BULBS. Do you realise how much energy an LED bulb saves? In Europe, much of the manufacturers of electric bulbs are totally stopping the production of the old fashion bulbs. Even IKEA is going totally LED this year.

I do not know what the "flavour" of your faith is. But I do know about FAITH. I was raised a Roman Catholic, in a Catholic family, and with 12 years of Catholic school, including 4 years of boarding school. I was taught by nuns and by Jesuits (for whom I have huge respect, as they are priests, but also men who do not give up their knowledge of science and logic to adopt all the incongruities included in religious dogmas).

What you see is my stream of consciousness, or at least that is what you should see if you were open and not closed minded.

ALL I listed in my preceding post are facts that are easily research. . .if you do not limit yourself to reading or listening to Limbaugh or Hannity! Please list what you believe are NOT FACTUAL in what I stated Trump and his cabinet are doing. . . .

I know what you mean but there comes a point where we need to think about the planet. I'm not a tree hugger or some kind of green evangelist but there's only so many holes we can dig, forests we can strip and habitats we can destroy.

I am a conservation guy. We can be cleaner and we are in fact cleaner. And the reason is it makes sense. Greater effiency = less cost. Lefties refuse to see this but I've seen it in action in the plastics biz and this was in the 90s.
