A judge last week approved the Virginia attorney general's move to drop all charges it levied against former Prince William County Registrar Michele White in connection to her role overseeing the 2020 election.

White, 51, of Occoquan, will no longer face a trial that was scheduled to begin Jan. 16. The cancellation comes after several key witnesses came forward with both new evidence and revised accounts of what transpired following the election, court documents say.

After backing away earlier in December from the felony corruption charges brought against her, Republican Attorney General Jason Miyares moved to drop the remaining misdemeanor charge on Dec. 29, which was approved by a Prince William Circuit Court judge on Jan. 3.
