Who Shouldnt Have Guns?

Do you have one of those SPECIAL computers that allow you to read things that I didn't post? You must, because I did specify a way to do it, which had nothing to do with a .357 Magnum.

I guess he's never heard of rat shot either.

I've heard of rat shot, bird shot, and BB guns.

My original statement was that people who carry guns (No, I didn't specify real guns loaded with real bullets, but that's what I meant, of course) to "shoot snakes", i.e. blast away at a harmless snake while bullets bounce all over, shouldn't have a gun.

Then the thread went to shooting snakes in the house.

Now, you're shooting snakes with rat shot, which, most likely wouldn't kill a very large snake anyway. I'd bet on the fire poker as a more lethal weapon.

I've killed enough snakes to know that a large one doesn't succumb easily.

Now, let's either get back to the original thread, and quit posting nonsense, or simply let it die a natural death.

I've never heard of rat shot (of course, I don't shoot rats), but gallery loads would work just fine.

For that matter, so would bullets made out of nylon bar stock.

Any snake dies immediately when shot through the brain.

Anyone who isn't a member of the armed forces shouldn't have guns.

So anyone who joins the services because they can't get a high school diploma, or a job in the private sector, or who just wants to take a chance that they won't be called up to fight, and get the freebies that the armed services offers recruits, has a right to bear arms, but I don't? Am I also supposed to rely on all service members to have the honor to defend me? How 'bout you let your kid loose in L.A. gangland and wait for the army to come and save him?

And your "point" is STILL stupid. When I was growing up, anybody working in the barn, or around the chicken coops would always take on of the Colt's (.45 LC) loaded with rat shot expressly for dealing with rats and snakes. Pistols fit real well in holsters, and aren't as ungainly as fireplace pokers. As far as whether or not it's "harmless" to humans has not the first damned thing to do with whether or not they're harmful to chickens, or will spook cattle.

The discussion didn't have to do with bird shot, cap guns, squirt guns, or Star Trek Laser shooters.

And you said my point was stupid.

I wonder how many schoolchildren would still be alive if you couldn't get guns over the counter or via the web in the US
"Children" cannot get guns over the counter...it is illegal. We adults have to be screened by the U.S. Government's instant check, have our identity verified with picture I.D. (usually a driver's license), and fill out the FFL form. No one can get a gun via the web...it is illegal. The law states that the gun must be sent from a FFL dealer, to an FFL dealer where it is then subject to the regulations mentioned. Where are you from that you do not know these things?
Can you name any incident were "schoolchildren" got guns over the counter or from the web?

My uncle just made an ammo-resupply run. He picked up 75lbs of powder, 5000 primers, 250lbs of lead bullet alloy, and the bullet molds for his .500 S&W (finally) arrived Thursday.

Hmm, is this the appropriate thread for this, I wonder? :)

I have been casting and hand loading since 1963. Most of my guns never have had a factory round put through them, and many (all my pistols and a lot of my rifles) have never had a jacketed bullet used in them.
If you want to own guns, you will not need to cast and hand load; if you want to shoot guns a lot, you must do both...or be wealthy.

Expecting a president Obama, it seems wise to begin to hoard components.

Well, i think no one has the "right" to own guns let alone use them.
I am from Holland and only the police, army and some criminals use them.
I know that America has an other history of guns and i know that a lot of people only use guns for hunting or some other games where no one gets hurt.
But there are also people who lost someone because one lunatic thought he had the right to shoot.
Think about the families who lost a beloved one.

Make Love No War!!

Then I would suggest that you read our Second Amendment. EVERYONE has the Right to "keep and bear arms" here.

Which is exactly why the Nazi's were able to over-run your country so easily back in '40. Why do you think that NOBODY has made a serious attempt to invade the US since 1812? Because they KNOW that if they do, damned near everyone they see is going to have a gun in their hands, and it's going to be pointed at THEM!

Make Love No War!!

Well, it's kind of hard to "make love" when somebody comes in, kills you, and RAPES your women, you know, like the Germans did. One would think that you people would have learned from your own history, but it would appear that you need to be reminded.
