Was There EVER Any Doubt The GOP Would Attempt To Reanimate "1984"????

"Last month, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) announced that the Florida Department of Education would reject the new course because it included topics about race that he and other conservatives have pushed to erase from public schools. In its pilot phase, the course covered topics like mass incarceration and reparations."

"The dust-up with the College Board comes as all signs point to DeSantis making a 2024 presidential run, setting up what’s expected to be a scorched-earth Republican primary as he battles with former President Donald Trump in a race to the bottom for the support of the party’s heavily conservative base."

De santis is a clone of Trump which will set up a show down when he debates him. They have to have something to ridicule each other as an alternative. De santis has already aligned himself with Trump in the past and to change he will appear a liar, not a good look for a future POTUS.

Trump will naturally contradict many things he has said and make more outrageous promises he cannot keep nor intends to. That also will not be so something to admire when it is realised he hasn't changed a bit and why they arseholed him on 2020.

If either is to have a chance, something must change about them. Internal quarrelling will gift it to democrats. So, who do the GOP endorse?

De santis will not change his spots so if he gets the not, Trump will undermine him every way he can but this time with more vigor.
That will cement Trumps return to oblivion.
Keep in mind the loyal following of Trump in the Congress and when given the chance they will needle de santis at every chance.

Politics is now tribal in USA. Personal stripes are irrelevant and power is the ultimate aphrodisiac for those dinosaurs. It augers well for a very robust selection process and it doesn't end there.

"One of the most inspiring baseball stories ever told might not be suitable for Florida public school libraries under the leadership of Gov. Ron DeSantis.

The book, “Roberto Clemente: Pride of the Pittsburgh Pirates,” is among the more than 1 million titles that “have been
covered or stored and paused for student use” in Florida, NBC News reported. The freeze follows the Florida “Stop W.O.K.E. Act” that DeSantis signed in 2022.

The book about Clemente’s life by Jonah Winter and Raul Colon is
not alone. Other books about Latino figures, such as U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor and the late Afro-Cuban salsa singer Celia Cruz, have the same frozen status, NBC reported."

"Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ iron-clad grip on the Republican-controlled Legislature may be slipping amid growing frustration among GOP legislators.

Republican lawmakers are stalling a handful of his key remaining legislative priorities with just weeks left in the annual session. And what started out as whispers in private about unhappiness over the governor are starting to become louder, even though Republican lawmakers remain unwilling to speak out publicly against DeSantis because of his power and clout. One House Republican recently told a former legislator he was ready to resign out of frustration over how the session was going."

"Former Presidunce Donald Trump released a campaign video on Tuesday titled Higher Education,” in which he outlined plans to seize the endowments of any college or university practicing affirmative action.
.
Trump began by raging against the “Marxist” takeover of higher education and vowed to change how colleges and universities are accredited so that higher education will reflect values that defend the “American tradition and Western civilization.”

Most in the school system are liberals from what I have seen
But is that relevant?
We're talking about the godbothering republicans who are scared of little Johnny see a drag queen but gladly let them be taught about poofters and priests in robes raping kids. All in God's name of course.

"The new standards come after the state passed new legislation under Gov. Ron DeSantis that bars instruction in schools that suggests anyone is privileged or oppressed based on their race or skin color.

The
new standards require instruction for middle school students to include “how slaves developed skills which, in some instances, could be applied for their personal benefit,” a document listing the standards and posted in the Florida Department of Education website said."
