Traditional family key to world peace: Pope

Don't kid yourself, Nums, people do just exactly that, they agree that something is logical and rain abuse on anyone who has the audacity to question it. Religions are the worst offenders too. What did YOUR church do to the people with real logical arguments proving that the Earth wasn't the center of the Universe and that the Sun didn't revolve around it?

Which is why jp2 gave the millenium apology -- which is more that anyone can say for any religion, state, empire, or whatnot anywhere in the world.

Duh?

OPERATION OF PROPOSITIONAL LOGIC, great phrase, Nums, but the Pope and his buddies won't buy it.

Won't buy what? Gay marriage? For sure -- since there is no logic in it!

Yeah, but what does it actually mean? Do you have any idea? Or is this just another semantically null, polysyllabic, piece of fluff to cover up the fact that you can't prove a point? Is this another example of Num logic?

Love is not something the state can legislate. Clear enough for you?

It may begin with a right of motherhood....but who is to say it ends there? Family does not mean the same thing in all societies.

Family means the same thing for all societies -- at least those that are signatory to the udhr.

Love is not something the state can legislate. Clear enough for you?

So far you're the only one talking about the state legislating love. You are attempting to legislate other people's love and make it "less than" your own. I don't buy it, love between consenting adult people is still love, yours is not better or more holy than anyone else's.

Your sad attempts to deny equality to people you don't approve of makes you look like a simple-minded bigot. Spruce up your image, embrace an egalitarian outlook, love others as you love yourself... not only would we appreciate it, we'd be impressed too.

You don't have to keep repeating your family motto, Nums, we got it the first 23 times.

They won't buy the fact that love is what makes a marriage, love is what makes a family, just like it says in all of the marriage vows. The man in the silly hat and all his weinie-wagger priests won't accept that, so, just like with you, we have to wait for you-all to die of old age so that the world can get back to progressively bringing more and more of humanity under the umbrella of ethical treatment.

It's funny how you feel the right to speak for all people like that. Funny too, how not a word of your religious twaddle is in the UDHR. I'm sad for you in a way, Nums, you're just stuck in the Dark Ages and you are afraid to come out into the light. Maybe in your next lifetime you'll get to be gay or trans and it will be a learning experience for you.

Try keeping your argument coherent, despite your immense emotional baggage.

While it is true that gays are capable of love, it is not a reason to legislate gay marriages.

Clear?

It seems it is the only word you understand.

HOMOSEXUALITY CAN NEVER MAKE A FAMILY.

Your artificial insemination nonsense has already been refuted in view of the RIGHTS OF CHILDREN.

Only a bonehead would construe 'natural and fundamental group unit of society' to include gay relationships.

Numinus, please stop using personal attacks all the time. It can be ignored up to a point but you are using them in every response and its pathetic.

Clear?

It is equally lacking in logic to legislate AGAINST gay marriages. Equality, Nums, make the laws apply to all consenting adults equally.

Another cheap-shot personal attack, can you post without doing that? Give it a try, it might make people respect you a trifle more.

Love makes a family, adopted children and the adoptive parents love each other, there is nothing inherently less than in adoptive families.

Your creative interpretation of various portions of the UDHR are just that: creative interpretations designed to continue the centuries of religious exclusion that have been visited on people you see as "less than".

Another cheap-shot personal attack, sorry, they make your arguments seem ineffectual, like you have to use them to attempt to discredit other posters because you can't make a case otherwise. Try it without them.

Gay relationships have been around as long as there have been people. Many cultures have accepted them without question. Even Christianity had nothing to say about homosexuals for the first 1200 years after Jesus' death.
Hate does not become you, you become your hate.
