Exactly. People should look at what Democrats are doing right now to Christians in America if they think the world's hatred of God and Christians would not lead them to commit acts of hatred and murder.

Modern theologians believe God promises to bless all nations through Israel in the last days.
Can you even name a "modern theologian" that believes this?
Look, Jesus said he was returning soon, before the last of his followers have died, Did he return? No, he did not.

And several centuries later, it would seem that God decided that Jesus was a bit of a flop and he sent Mohammad, who promptly conquered the Middle East and converted people largely by force. Modern theologians never seem to be aware that the Romans destroyed Jerusalem and ran all the Jews and Christians out.

Theologians are basically a waste of time, because they start with the conclusion and work backwards to explain how somehow a ton of malarkey makes sense, which is does not.

The Bible is an occasionally useful history of the Hebrew and Jewish people, and the New Testament ends with the Book of Revelation, which is essentially the ravings of a crazy loon. To me there is no way it could possibly be the inspired work of even a modestly intelligent human being.

When is Jesus coming? Almost certainly, never.

God’s Blessing for All Nations (Jonah 1:16, 3:1-4:2)

Bible Commentary / Produced by TOW Project

Jonah god Ys blessing for all nations jonah 1 16 3 1 4 2

Jonah disobeys God’s call because he objects to God’s intent to bless Israel’s adversaries, the nation of Assyria and its capital city, Nineveh, and when he ultimately relents and his mission is successful, he resents God’s mercy to them (Jon. 4:1-2). This is understandable, for in time Assyria was to conquer the northern kingdom of Israel (2 Kings 17:6). Jonah is being sent to bless people he despises. Nonetheless, this is God’s will. Apparently, God’s intent is to use the people of Israel to bless all nations, not just themselves (see "Blessing for All Peoples (Jeremiah 29)" in Jeremiah & Lamentations and Work).

when one talks to a christian, one is aware that there is a huge part of their brain is missing...

probably the best way to describe this part is a bullshit filter...

christians accept without demur every part of a fairy tale written 2000 years ago and not amended since.

the only good thing about the bible is the last chapter where all the christians are thrown into the bottomless pit..

only the jews are saved

take that

Who the poo cares whether God blesses Assyria or not? Who cares who Jonah blesses? If all the people should be blessed, then God, being omnipotent and all, could simply make all people immune to cancer, leprosy, smallpox, diphtheria, the plague, or at least Guinea worms.

Christians and Jews care.

clearly this obsolete book is well past it's sell-by date and should not be used by fellow-travellers and apologists of the WarParty for mass killing and lies.

but they will..it is all they have left...

Israel is going nowhere. Jesus has promised He will return to Judea in the last days and His feet will again touch down on the Mount of Olives to begin His earthly dictatorial rule over the whole earth.
Yeah, what we really need is an Aramaic-speaking dictator telling Americans how to live from a Middle Eastern country.
Jesus already told his followers at Emmaus when he would be back, and he was a no-show, long time ago.
He's not a -comin'.

Oh really? Jesus is coming back? You'll be dead a billion years before that happens.

Dictatorial ay? Do you like living under a dictator? No wonder you liked Trump.

How did you get to be an expert on "modern theologians"?
Paul and Zacharias are certainly not "modern".

Building the Third Temple with the sole motive of destroying it would be in keeping with this wacko prophesy. Of course, to build a Third Temple, it would be necessary to destroy the Dome of the Rock and the Al Aqsa Mosque, which is guaranteed NOT to bring peace.

The author of the Book of Revelation refers to the destruction of the Temple. Odds are that either he was writing before Herod's (the second) Temple was destroyed by the Romans or was unaware that it had been destroyed.
