While I know and understand that many of the members here are regular posters on other forums/communities etc. I generally do not, not from lack of interest, but a lack of time. So the vast majority of time I dedicate to online poilitical discussion is here, this includes my role as a moderator.
In my time here, I have seen many fads come and go, cycles of ideology based members and have overall seen a number of various personalities come and go, and more than a few have stayed for a long period of time.

In the recent months a particular poster has taken repeated personal attacks at me and while I have generally taken the high ground in dealing with this poster, it became necessary for a ban from the forum to take place. Recent posts, blog entries, and thread starters that I will highlight in continued posts will illustrate the necessity for these actions for all of the members to see.

I would also invite discussion on how you would deal with such a member.

I also gave a warning for the following rant and suggested the poster post such thoughts as a blog entry because there was already a number of threads existing about a similar subject. I would also ask you to consider the level of positive discussion that would happen as a result being left for public comment.

By his own actions Obama makes it very clear he is more concerned with the safety, security, and process of the murderous terrorist than he is about the lives of the everyday American citizen.
His very strange and questionable approach in protecting our foreign enemies with rights offered by our AMERICAN CONSTITUTION is making our citizens questioning his judgement and his American spirit. His actions unnerve most americans and frighten them as to how secure we are under his administration . In addition to his weird behavior and policies toward our proven enemy his domestic policies are weaking America's ability to punish those who mean to kill us. Never in my lifetime , a lifetime that goes back to the start of the F.D.R. adminitration, I have never seen a behavior from any government offical Federal , State or Local that seemed so determined to undermine our Constitutional form of government and favor the enemy combatants.It seems like America is living through a cheap novel written by one who hates the American Dream and works to destroy us.
It is not just Obama's words and deeds that scare most citizens ,it is also the character ,or lack of , of those he personally selected to enforce his will.
Just look ar their resume, have you ever known a past American Admistration with so many Socialist , Communist , Marxist , Statist , radical Union Leftist as advisors to our President? Our Congress ignores our Constitution and holds secret meetings to write Legislation that is forced by BRIBERY ,INTIMIDATION,and other illegal means to satisfy our President.
What has happened to the COMMON SENSE in America? We now see members of Congress going into retirement trying to escape and hide from their crimes in breaking our laws.How was America so duped in 2008 election. Why did we pass our beautiful country over to such a bunch of despots?
Why do we still remain passive as more and more insults to our Constitution and to our Founders are heaped upon us? What do we say to those families that have lost loved ones in recent wars? How can we face the thousands of wounded service personel who suffered to keep us free and secure. Did we allow them to sacrifice and then we sit still while those who dislike AMERICAS' history steal it from us . Have we become a nation of cowards and apologize for the GIFT from our GOD, AMERICAN THE BEAUTIFUL?
WE made a terrible mistake in the election of 2008. This does not mean we must allow this mistake to bring America down. The MAJORITY of AMERICANS love this nation and must speak up in 2010 to save America from Tyranny.
Start today by pressuring your Senator and Congressman or Congresswoman to KILL this Obama Health Care Scheme that will give our federal Government strict control over your life. THINK!

Read "MEIN KAMPF" , Obama's source for his national agena and policy for America. If you think you have heard Obama's disgraceful policies before, you did!,they are outlined in this book written 90 years ago!!

This resulted in the members third infractions and resulted in a one week ban.

Upon return, the member (who I will give positive credit for utilizing the blog feature as suggested) posted this. In this blog entry the poster suggests that I apologize for my actions, I would ask you fellow members if in fact it should be the poster apologizing to me.

I was banned by a moderator from posting on the "Political Forum" from 1-09-10 through 1-16-10.
A moderator with the post name of BUNZ said I was banned due to the continued use of "bad language", I guess PROFANITY.
Well , to date I have a total of 775 post and I cannot remember ever using profanity , unless the word "ass" is profane. I do recall using that word ONCE in 775 posts but certainly not a "continuing basis.
No, I believe BUNZ banned me due to the clash between his "leftist" views and my "conservative views". I say if he can prove his charges that in 775 posts I continually used profanity then he must do so. If he was mistaken and had me confused with another, then he should apologize and say so to all members of the political forum. My honor he questions and to a Conservastive , HONOR means a lot!
WHAT SAY YOU , FELLOW POSTERS? You must have read many of my 775 posts , do you remember them as being laced with PROFANITY? BE HONEST NOW!! The next time , it could be your HONOR!

I think it might be worthy to ask the large number of resident right wing posters on how many infractions I have given them. Also, I think it is noteworthy to mention that this is a privately owned site without a subscription fee and it is a privledge to post here and not a right.

I started posting on "political forum " in August , 2009. I, and several others posted critical of radical leftist in general and our inept president in particular. My recent post challenging Obama on how he favors the lives of terrorist over the everyday American citizen was very honest and cannot really be challenged.
This post was of course offense to a certain moderator , post name Bunz, he dislikes to have the very harmful deeds and words of Obama exposed to the light of truth.
Bunz , as far as I can recall Bunz is the only so called "moderator", to censor my thoughts and take it on himself to enforce the "ranting " rule , as he calls it. In my opinion all Conservative thought offends Bunz . If he could BUNZ would only allow pro Obama posts to make it on his political forum .
As the Obama policies further damage our country I expect BUNZ will censor all on the forum who do not salute his idol.
It would be very welcome if we had more serious moderators who will allow free expression of ones thought and beliefs as long as the wording is not obscene. NOTHING is more OBSCENE than BIASED CENSORSHIP!
If you can , review how many of my past posts were deleted by Bunz and how many were deleted by another moderator. Proving a personal bias by Bunz ! Yes, we do need Moderators but biased moderators harm the free expression needed to be worthy of the name "political forum".
Certainly anyone has the right to disagree with my post. I welcome their challenge and their uncensored comments.But to have ones "Freedom of Speech" controlled by a single biased individual is jusy UNAMERICAN!

Our mod staff here at the HOP is excellent. I disagree with Bunz on nearly everything politically but he is fair in his role as a mod and I agree with the decisions he has made in moderating the forum.

Of course the member in question would never make these statements found below to me in person, but it is easy to hide behind a screen and keyboard and make up anything. The fact of the matter is that this person has just enough brains and not nearly enough cajones to deal with thier words and thoughts in society. Here is the response the blog user said in response.

You have every right to be so wrong about a completely biased moderator. Bunz hates Sarah Palin so much he cannot judge a piece of toast fairly, Like all radical left wing zealots he praises himself for being"fair " . lol,lol. If he and you were not political twins your support would not create so much laughter. Do you know of any other moderator who tries to force their views on others. Bunz can never allow his bias to stand the sunlight, critics of his ranting are deleted. He seriously believes he is "something" , I never met the woman /man , but I would guess the height is between 5'-4" and 5'-6", rather small for a man, Weight , about 165 Lbs -- again small for a man, been afraid all his life, cannot stand a challenge, a back stabber for sure regardless of gender. I bet I am very close!!

Yep, I think on the whole that the Moderators have allowed this 'ONE PARTICULAR' poster way to much latitude in showing contempt for our MODERATORS as a whole. And since you seem to have been the one that this poster took a finite pleasure stalking. We all have 'Free Will' to post here or NOT. So why...WHY is this poster continually coming in here if for no other reason then to just cause you in particular problems.

This same poster is the one that called me 'TILLER THE BABY KILLER'...and that particular post was what made me put he/she/it on ignore and now the hypocrite has posted a 'PLEASE PLAY NICE'...good grief!

I am a moderator on another forum {that will scare a couple of real fine people on here} and you have gone above and beyond the whelm of allowing this poster to personally attack one of our Moderators and each and every time it just gets ramped up another notch...fed by the support that this poster is receiveing from some on this forum {all behind the scenes as usual}.

Should it matter that you are a mod? Is her being rude to you worth more than if she were being rude to a fellow member because you are a mod?

You know how you could slap a cop and get in really big trouble and do double that damage to a regular person and not get in any or little trouble? Well it could be how things are here with mods and members and if that’s the case that’s ok. I just want to know.

If you think the rude things she says are bad I would like to post a list of the rude personal attacks given by another member. It’s a really long list and could be longer but several of the other persons posts were deleted. Relentless attacks that really are far worse than what you have posted as examples. I do understand what it feels like to be constantly attacked by someone and I agree its not fun or productive.

But in all honesty what you have posted are not at all as bad as the attacks another member gives.



All I am saying is what ever punishment you put on Always should be done to anyone doing the same thing at the same level or a worse level, unless its more severe to attack a mod.

That being said I would hope that a degree of evenhandedness was the rule. Its not a simple thing of course. Everyone has a real life here and that includes the mods, its just not possible to see everything. Thats why they give you the report icon for posts and I would assume that forwarding an inappropriate PM to "the authorities" is acceptable as well.
