Really!

You are incapable of discerning a moral good on your own? You need jesus to tell you, eh?

Since a moral good is discernable only by a rational mind, one cannot reasonably oblige someone without a rational mind to it, no?

Ever wonder how jesus and confuscius came to the same conclusion independent of one another?

Or how st aquainas couched the cosmological argument in virtually the same way as the kalam cosmological argument (its muslim version)?

Or how the utilitarian ethics of js mill, metaphysical ethics of kant and christian morality are saying virtually the same thing?

Here is a video for you: http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/

What doubt?

When god said, I AM I - you can very well take his word (or his messenger in this case) for it or you can go through the necessary logical mental gymnastics associated with philosophical and physical cosmology.

Your choice. Either way, the conclusion is inescapable.

When Mohammed said he was the son of Allah, when Buddha preached his word, when tribesmen in remote parts of the world tell people they are a messenger of God and people believe them through the brainwashing power of religion, they take their equivilants word.

Why would God send down his messenger, but allow all these equally convincing (obviously to some people) imposters also live on the earth?

And what if I don't believe Jesus. I don't believe everything everyone says, especially not someone who lived 2,000 years ago.

The fact you point out a Muslim alternative just highlights my problem with God letting multiple, convincing religions survive on the earth.

Also, ALL THESE PEOPLE LIVED AFTER JESUS. Who was preaching the word of Christianity before Jesus? NOBODY. Bit odd that really. Letting millions upon millions of people never even hear of Jesus or the true Lord.

Ever heard of Free Will?

Are you sure they were after Jesus?

Free will to believe in something people pre-christ have never heard of?

Free will to be brainwashed from birth by another religion?

Are you sure the "free will" started with Christ?

Some are brainwashed, some are not. Some come out of the brain washing, some don't. Some meet God/Jesus long after their birth.

I just watched some of that film zeitgeist, and it showed me a lot about pre-Christianity religion and how much of a sham and bog-standard religion Christianity is.

Please now explain to me why God didn't make Christianity known from the beginning of time...

Of course that is the film makers opinion.

Why don't you ask God your question??

Funny then, how many people it escapes.

I fail to see how "free will" applies if God withholds the one true way to salvation from people.

Even if you take Bishop Usher's timeline as Gospel, that still means that people lived and died for 4,000 years before Jesus brought down the message. That's a lot of people to be deliberately left out in the cold by God.
Which of course God didn't do, it's the idiotic Bible account that is at fault, God plays fair, Christianity has message wrong.

They do? Might be interesting to hear what God said to them.

God told me that the Bible was mostly nonsense, that He didn't do all that stuff like command people to commit genocide, burn animals' bodies for sacrifice, keep slaves, sell children, and all the rest. He said that the Bible has some good things in it, like forgiveness, loving others as oneself, turning the other cheek, and reaping what you sow, but all the punishment and Hell and damnation stuff was just written by people to scare other people into obeying out of fear.

God made special point of saying that He is interested in our love and there cannot be even the tiniest hint of coercion in love. Love by definition has to be a gift given freely, and that He is willing to wait for us to come to Him of our own free will so that when we return we can truly love Him because we will be with Him of our own choice with no fear or force involved.

God is not only better than we imagine, He is better than we CAN imagine. It seemed pretty clear to me.

Who has the message right?
