Seriously by that logic there could be no such thing as theists either... If we accept this twisted logic as fact there would be no reason for discussion because everyone would be agnostic.

There are a lot more agnostics than there are people who describe themselves as such. How can anyone know for sure that there is or isn't a god? There is no proof one way or another.

Being an agnostic doesnt exclude you from being a theist or atheist which was THE problem in nobull's post. Agnosticism is simply a statement of doubt... Stating doubt does not make you less of a theist or atheist.

A theist is someone who believes that there is a god. An atheist is someone who believes that there is no god. An Agnostic says he doesn't know whether or not there is a god. Of course, being one excludes you from being the other. Either you believe in god, don't believe in god, or don't know.

You understanding of agnosticism is flawed to say the least.

Agnostic atheists are atheistic because they do not have belief in the existence of any deity, and agnostic because they do not claim to know that a deity does not exist.

That makes no sense. If they don't believe in deity, then they are agnostics. If they believe that there is no deity, then they are atheists. Atheism is a positive belief in the absence of god, while agnosticism is a lack of belief.

Either you aren't sure, or you are sure. Of course, so many people are so sure of opposite and opposing ideas, that it is difficult to be sure of anything.

You are talking yourself in circles and making the concept a lot harder to grasp than it is.

Agnosticism is simply a statement of doubt this is not my take on agnosticism its Thomas Huxley's... If you are going to sit here and claim you know more about agnosticism than he does then dont expect me to take the claim seriously.

Y'all are saying the same thing. Not sure ? Agnostic. No question ? Atheist.

That's about as plain as it gets.

Exactly.

Believe in god? Theist.
Believe there is no god? Atheist.
Not sure? agnostic. The roots of agnostic are from Greek "not knowing".

Down deep, most of us are agnostics, even those who proclaim a deep belief in one thing or the other.

You could not know there is a god and believe in god.

You could not know there is a god and not believe in god.

Your thinking is flawed.

The only thing we have are subjective views so by this logic nothing at all should be tolerated.

Then we must all find a common belief and all support it. Societies fragment when there are too many different interpretations of one ideal. So long as there is order in our lives and we don´t put ourselves ahead of standard and conduct, there shouldn´t be any problems.

Religion is Fake! Just like the WWE is

Benny Hinn is a Fake!

At Benny Hinn's crusades—he dazzles the crowds, plays captivating music, and manipulates the emotions of the audience; BUT, he is not of God. What is happening is not of God. Benny Hinn is a master con artist, who fully understands the human psyche. I was watching one of Benny Hinn's crusades the other day on TV. At first impression, Benny Hinn appears as a man of God. He has that curious and distinguishing look that mesmerizes the crowds. Benny Hinn comes across as an extremely interesting character, with the power to hypnotize the masses with his charm, music, and exploitation of the Bible.

As I watched Benny Hinn perform on stage, it reminded me more of a rock star in concert. There were many thousands of people in the audience, and no doubt, millions more on TV. Just as rock-n-roll fans, the audience was in the palm of the performer, Benny Hinn. Hinn never mentioned the word "sin," never mentioned the word "Saviour," but just kept talking about how wonderful Jesus is. This is one of Satan's greatest deceptions.

We read in Acts16:16-18, "And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying: The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation. And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour." Just as the demon possessed woman in Acts 16:17 who spoke the truth while also serving the Devil, so does Benny Hinn speak of Jesus Christ while serving the Devil.

Ap prefers the # of angels on the head of a pin view to this discussion. Pretty much nobody sees value in creating needless facets of the same thing but to these navel gazing folk like Huxley, it makes a difference. Is, isn't or are not sure. That's all that matters. Is ?

Neutral Evil said that we must all find common ground that we can all believe in.

As I consider the most basic of things I could believe in I think of the statement "I think therefore I am." Is this the common ground we can all share? Or are there still many who doubt its truth? I have to admit I have doubts about the statements truth. I have doubt about the existence of reality. On the same level I have doubts about the existence of God.

But one has to accept certain things to be true despite those doubts. I assume the universe exists and that I exist too. I assume that my experience of the universe is true save for the remote possibility of hallucinations which I am not prone to.

In short, we all have doubts and we all should, but my experience of God, like my experience of the universe, should not be swayed by the existence of an agnosticism that permeates everything equally. In fact my experience of God is stronger than my experience of other aspects of the universe because while I have taken for granted that the couch under my butt is real I have given great consideration to whether or not my experience of God is real or illusory.
