Now, now, don't be nasty, Arbit, the Bible doesn't say "mule", it says "ass". If you will ever look carefully at true asses you will find a cross in different color hair that runs up their back and the cross piece goes down each side of their front shoulders. Tradition says that all asses are marked with the "Cross" this way because one of them carried Jesus.

I think that Pale's thesis is incorrect in light of the fact that there have been no fascist liberal dictatorships in human history to the best of my knowledge. Liberals (a word never properly defined by the OP) tend to be more interested in restraining power and allowing people to have more personal freedom--or at least the ones I know feel that way. There isn't a single one who wants to promote marriage inequality based on religious dogma like Pale does.

Fascists were socialists mare. Again, get a grip of the basics before you jump in. We have already been through this and the facts are what the facts are and modern liberalism is socialism. If you want to see the end result of socialism in the US, then look at the end result of socialism every where it is tried. It didn't work out for hitler, stalin, lenin, pol pot and it isn't going so great for the EU either.
