What we need are THORIUM reactors. They generate power without the dangerous radioactive byproducts and the US has LOTS of Thorium.

It's time we face the fact that power-distribution is dead-tech....even though some are more "modern", than others. Moving, from PA, to CO (back in '75), it was always so surprising to see (pretty much) a dearth of power-lines, throughout Boulder County. A majority of those lines were buried....something Florida (and, too-much of the Southeast) have yet to discover.
.
We're already half-way to the future....independent-generation!!! Currently, standby-power is the default, for emergencies; some are designed to hook-up to natural-gas lines.
.
If we go one-more-step, and "fuel" these with solid hydrogen fuel-cells....that, eventually would be available, by the case, at your local Walmart....kinda the same way people purchase cases of lubrication-oils. Ya' load-up your generator's magazine with fuel-cells, and your generator does the rest; i.e. ejects spent fuel-cells / loads replacements....and, "flags" you when your fuel-cells magazine hits whatever maintenance-level you decide.

"Tropical Storm Milton is likely to make landfall as a major hurricane on Floridas already storm-battered west coast by midweek, federal forecasters said Sunday.

The National Hurricane Center said
Milton was rapidly evolving into
“an intense hurricane with multiple life-threatening hazards for the coastline.

Gov. Ron DeSantis said in a news briefing Sunday that Milton is expected to make landfall in Hillsborough or Pinellas counties Wednesday evening."

We might as well accept the fact that if any Americans suffer serious losses due to adverse weather events there will be no money available from FEMA because democrats have already spent it all on illegal immigrants and the thousands of government workers helping spend that money on immigrants.

You do not “accept.” In fact you ASSumed.

If you had any proof you would have provided it. As usual you lied.

Florida Power and Light buried the transmission line into my house two years ago.

Indeed.

(PITTSBURGH) – The United Steelworkers (USW) union today proudly endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for president.
I'm surprised that all communist unions do not endorse the fascist communist democrat candidate.

Kamala Harris once said police could pay surprise visits to legal gun owners' homes for safe storage checks
