The Biblical character called "God" had no complaints about slavery. Many books about how enslaving Black people was precisely what God intended wee published. My parents frequently bought boxes of books for a dollar or two at country auction sales in the 1950's, and I recall at least three books that defended slavery for more than 300 pages each.
