When I still had a land line, I put a message on it that came on after the first ring saying that it was a message phone only, that we did not answer it, that the caller should leave a message or call our cell.

After a month or so of no messages, we unplugged the darn thing and put it out with the eight track and incandescent light bulbs.

Can you talk to the missus ? She insists on the land line. Wouldnt save me any money as its all bundled with the tv and Internet.
But she is intractable. She might have a point as her phone gets no signal where she works. But still....

She wants her Spotify or whatever service she has now in the car but I'm too cheap for unlimited data.
Maybe that's why the hard line on land lines....
