Did God commit the crimes, or did people do so using his name? Almost all political groups of every persuasion claims God is on thier side. They interpret the whole Bible with a biased view in which all that is written serves thier cause.

Your ideas are confusing. Your taking certain verses in the Bible, applying a gnostic meaning to them, while at the same time, ignoring other verses. At least an athiest would try to discredit the whole Bible.

Cherry picking is a Christian way of using the bible. But if you want the whole thing discredited, go chat with an atheist.

Well, I can sort of understand Crowley's cynicism, but you gotta realize the same spirit which motivated David Bowie's rock exploration also motivated Hitler. It's so easy for people to twist things toward evil, seeing there is no moral compass.

If the Jews were siding with God when they wrote Genesis, and they were, then it is the Christians who sided with Satan when they reversed the moral understanding that the Jews had originally put to it as man's elevation.

If we do not have moral compasses, then your God creates us without a moral compass.

Not much of a creator is he.
