Between 600,000 to 700,000 people were killed during the Eighty Years' War (1568-1648) in the Low Countries of the Holy Roman Empire. There were other conflicts during this period but these were the most costly. The toll includes deaths were caused by battles, massacres, disease, and famine. In short, the total number of people killed was between 6.5 million to 17 million.
