Sen. Boxer to climate-change deniers: ‘You are endangering humankind’

Senate Environment and Public Works Committee Chairwoman Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) blasted skeptics of climate science Wednesday, alleging they are “endangering humankind.”

“The message I have for climate deniers is this: you are endangering humankind,” Boxer said during a press conference in the Capitol. “It is time for climate deniers to face reality, because the body of evidence is overwhelming and the world’s leading scientists agree.”


Boxer criticized skeptics of climate science, alleging they are standing in the way of significant progress toward lowering greenhouse gas emissions both domestically and internationally.

“Wishing that climate change will go away by clinging to a tiny minority view is not a policy — it is a fantasy,” Boxer said. “Problems do not go away by pretending they do not exist. And the longer that vocal minority insists on keeping their heads in the sand, the more it endangers billions of people around the globe and threatens to dramatically and negatively reshape the world as we know it.”

Now, that's about as convincing an argument as I've heard against the reality of the greenhouse effect. Take that, Mrs. Smith, elementary school science teacher! Your science has been found lacking in truth, and NASA itself disagrees. That hot car really must be due to a wormhole into Hell, or perhaps into another universe.

It really is the most convincing argument yet. No other argument is as convincing as "all have been found lacking in truth." It has just as many facts, and just as much logic, as other arguments against basic science, and is succinct and to the point. Congratulations.

The alarmists who say we're in for a disaster are about as credible as the hoaxers who claim that warming stopped in '98.

Now, we know that the hoaxers are wrong.

Yes...it killed me too. Barbara Boxer is one of the biggest liberal frauds of all time. And yet, warmers believe her...CRAZY!

What warmers have not considered are the solutions the elites want to impose to 'solve' AGW. Have they even looked into what the elites intend to do? Are the warmers ready to live a third world life style?

Well, we had a long discussion on this topic previously. I don't think he has anything new after that. Let's see what he had to say:

Now, how do I address a post like that? I've been using that dull, boring old fact and logic, after all. The only meat to that is that I've "moved the goalposts". No, actually, they're where they've always been: Every scientific organization on Earth is saying the same thing.

and what they're saying is that the Earth is getting warmer, and that human activities are accelerating the change.

Now, thus far, no one has reached that goal, so why move it?

Now, is the Earth still warming, or did it stop 13 years ago? Let's try to focus the debate on one issue.

They are scientific organizations. They have not countered the theory of global warming. There is nothing on either of the websites I posted even suggesting that global warming theory is wrong. Some of the pundits have questioned their findings, of course, but that 's pundits.

It is a theory that could be correct. Then again the theory that life was seeded here from aliens could be correct too. The good science that supports AGW is sorely lacking.

It is a matter of silly pundits vs every scientific organization on Earth. When NASA or CERN or even one of the privately funded organizations says, "Hey, wait a minute! here's some new evidence!" Then that will be time to rethink the issue. So far, all of the evidence confirms the basic findings.

The CERN study did EXACTLY that. It provided new evidence in support of an alternative theory. The theory that earth's warming is due to the sun is a better theory than AGW. Though the theory that the warming and cooling we see is just cyclic is just as sound, especially since we do not even have any measurements at all that measure the temperature of the area in and around the Earth.

You didn't answer my question. Is the current hoaxer dogma:

1. There is no global warming, or
2. There is, but human activities play no part in it at all?

It could be true that there is no warming.

It might be true that there is warming but it is due entirely to the sun and not at all due to CO2. We should get the politics out of the debate, e.g IPCC, NASA.

But what is certain is that many of the players are biased at best and dishonest at worst.
