The frightening probability that there will be a doctor shortage could wreak much more pain on the American public than the cost. That probability was at the heart of Sarah Palin's claim that Obamacare would result in "Death Panels". The workload of every doctor will increase, and there will be fewer doctors as a percent of the population. There will be long waits to see a doctor. Eventually, access to healthcare will be rationed by some government panel, deciding who gets care first, and who may not be worth the time and expense.
