It's designed to become a one payer system. A monopoly controlled by the government. It's also a one size fits all. Eventually it will force doctors out of private practice and into government run clinics and hospitals and unions.
All four plans have the same coverage. The only difference is the out of pocket expense. Bronze = 40% out of pocket. Silver = 30% out of pocket, Gold = 20% out of pocket and Platinum = 10% out of pocket. There is also the monthly cost of your premium and a maximum out of pocket cost of $6,ooo+. So if you make good money and have to use the exchange for your insurance, your "free" socialized medical care would never cost you more than $20k a year.
Also, your doctor/hospital must only treat you according to what the health care law allows them to, or they will be fined.. Health care will be rationed and you'll have to use the doctors they send you to. Calif. only has three participating insurance companies in their exchange. Some states may only have one.
There are already doctor groups springing up that are cash only. They are refusing to take insurance. Probably won't be long and the government will pass a law making their practices illegal.
