There are only 2 political parties. The ultimate objective for both should always be to attract 51% of voters.

You can only do that by attracting moderates, independents and libertarians. For republicans bashing anybody and everybody who is not totally conservative or totally a Trump worshiper is idiotic and it is hurting them in these elections.

I'm not talking about Lynn Cheney or Adam Kingsinger. They deserve the hate. But even people like Dan Crenshaw has been bashed as a RHINO and he represents a district that is half Latino.

Another thing is it is a risk to run political noobs for high office. Too many of these people ran for the senate and governor as republicans. For Mark Meadows to push Madison Cawthorn for his district is moronic. He was not qualified for anything. Lauren Boebert was another one.

Amazing how nobody talked about the Gary Johnson vote in 2020. Johnson a libertarian got 3.4% of the vote in 2016 when libertarians typically only get 1%. Johnson himself only got 1.2% in 2012.

These were real votes so you might wonder where that 2% would go in 2020 and beyond. Republicans have done a poor job getting those people.

Legislation, hearings, special investigations begin or die in committee. The party in power has the majority in every committee because the chairman is somebody from their party. So a committee with 9 members would have 5 republicans now.

That sets the agenda. It stops the agenda of Biden.

Democrats only have 48 senate seats vs 50 for republicans. Just that the 2 independents caucus with the dems. Angus King and Bernie Sanders.
