1. Dead animals decay or are destroyed by scavenging, so to be preserved as fossils the remains must be protected from decay and dispersal. A massive flood would provide the protective sediments to cover dead animals and preserve them as fossils.
2. Fossils of creatures that experienced little decay such as mammoths with undecayed food in their mouths and stomachs would have had to have been rapidly frozen or buries very soon after death. The universal flood detailed in the Bible could have provided those necessities while there seems to be no other reasonable explanation.
