There arent many elected because of the exact reason you gave, their agenda is to benefit the rich at the expense of everyone else, They are only successful in heavily red areas.
There is no recovery because most good paying jobs were sent to china, phillipines, india and other places. Why do you think there are so many unemployed and underemployed in this country.

The teaparty only talks about jobs in abstract, what they DO is vote against anything for the middleclass and poor and pass bills to do the same.
The teaparty house voted to end unemployment, they killed a raise in the minimum wage, the lowered food stamps and the voted against ending billion dollar subsidies for Big Oil that rapes us at the pump at will, big corporate farmers and big pharmaceutical companies. There are so many unemployed/underemployed because BO has done zero to help the situation and everything to hurt it. They did not vote to end unemployment, they voted to no longer extend it beyond the two years it had bloated to. A rise in the min wage ? This helps noone and hurts the very groups most impact3d by this endless recession. BO or rather MO lowered foodstamps to pay for her exersize program. BO handed out many billions to his backers in the so-called green biz. If only we had known it meant green as in cold hard cash pumped into benefactor's pockets. Big corporate farmers like Robert Redford ? And you actually bring up pharma whose bestest friend on the planet is BO ? I know fringe lefties like yourself eschew reality for HuffPo and such but really man, you should consider checking things before you offer up this stuff.

C'mon ... think it through.

End unemployment - make people go back to work. Reduce welfare program - force people to be responsible for themselves. Big oil subsidies ... just how much do you think fuel would cost if there weren't any subsidies, and the middle class had to absorb those costs? Where is that money going to come from? Oh, by the way ... where do you think the money comes from that pays those supposed big oil subsidies? Since we know less than half the people pay ANY taxes, it must the rich you so naively vilify.

Why are there so many unemployed and underemployed in this country? Yes, jobs were sent overseas ... now, ask yourself why. Right ... labor is cheaper. What does that mean? Domestic labor has priced itself out of the market.

Quit whining, and look at reality.

The subsidies were put in place DECADES ago for the purpose to aid Big Oil Companies to build new refineries. NOT A SINGLE REFINERY WAS EVER BUILT. All that money went to their investors and CEOs and it still does. Gas goes up every spring like clockwork, what reason does Big Oil give, usage is up refineries cant keep up. Oh then theres the Down for maintenance crap oops price shoots up 15 %. You need to not only think it through you need to start thinking.

There are NO JOBS. Walmart the largest single employer in the USA has mostly part time workers who qualify for FOOD STAMPS and some that are homeless and cant pay rent.

Listen state to state in the country has different cost of livings. If You work for a company in Alabama and get transferred to another big western or northern state, your cost of living SOARS. A nice two bedroom apt in North Dakota costs 600.00 a month, In NYC it would cost you 2500 and up. You can relate that to the US and CHina. Corporations went to china out of PURE GREED and putting a few buck above all else.

The people that pay no taxs dont make enough to live in the first place. Keep in mind im not talking about the bums and junkies and dirtbags that dont want to work, Im strictly talking about people willing to work.

Do you realize that 6 americans, SIX HUMAN BEINGS, have more money than the entire bottom 43 % of all americans. Thats the waltons, the same waltons that own walmart that has some of their workers having to WORK and be on food stamps.

The Congressional Research Service states the fledgling oil industry in the United States first received government assistance in 1916. That was when intangible drilling costs were able to be fully deducted from a company's expenses for tax purposes. In 1926, a write-off for cost depletion was introduced. That provision allowed oil companies to deduct costs based upon overall gross receipts and not just the actual value of the oil.



Both of those subsidies still exist. The Obama administration claims the average subsidy for huge oil companies is $4 billion per year. The bill in the Senate would have saved $24 billion in 10 years. The White House claims when gas goes up one cent per gallon, oil companies make $200 million more per month.

The American Chemical Society cites a report by Double Bottom Line Venture Capital that explains how the oil industry has reaped benefits from subsidies. From 1918 to 2009, the average annual subsidy was $4.86 billion. By comparison, the nuclear energy industry gets around $3.5 billion per year.

You do realize that current law is what matters right ? The subsedy is a tax break not tax dollars as you stated. You may want to get your facts straight b4 you post. Relying on huffpo cut n paste will bite you more often yhan not.

Think it through.

First of all, what's with this 'we' stuff?? ("We pay for those subsidies") 47% of the country contributes nothing - nil - nada - to those subsidies. They pay no taxes - and the remaining 53% pay a graduated level of taxes - the more you make, the more you pay.

So, you win .... let's just get rid of those .. do away with them. Who is going to replace that income for the oil company? Are they REALLY going to just take the hit and do nothing? No ... they are going to pass that cost on to the buyer - all 100% of them!! So, all you accomplished was to lower taxes for the rich (now, they don't have to fund those subsidies), and raise the cost of living for everyone (the price of gas goes up - all the way up to what Europe pays today).

Explain to me again just how you want to get rid of those subsidies.

It is your tunnel vision ... not reality, that infects your view of the employment market.

As for your rant about the cost of living in New York, versus Alabama, or North Dakota, or wherever. You probably don't remember the big upheaval in the mid-to-late 60s about the job loss ... how the federal government was supposed to step in, and tax the hell out of manufacturers that wanted to leave. Where were they leaving ... the northeast, and moving to the southeast. Just like now .... people don't want to adjust, and they bitch and moan, and want the government to fix it for them. They're not willing to do it themselves ... you want to blame the manufacturers for your unwillingness to make yourself cost competitive.

Why isn't the wage at Walmart enough to get you off food stamps? Because you choose to use the money for non-necessities because the government will take care of you. How many minimum wage homes have HDTV, cable, Internet, and 4 cell phones? When you consider that the government pays you more to NOT work than you can make at a no-skill job, you begin to see the light.

Corporations went to China because of GREED, you say ... that is what corporations are SUPPOSED to do ... when I invest in your company, I expect every single employee to be totally devoted to making me as much money as they can. Anything else is a violation of trust ... AND, if you want a raise, thus improving your lifestyle, you'd better make me money!!!

What about milk subsidies? If milk wasn't subsidized it would cost about $8 a gallon.
