What's wrong with stealing?

Or until someone like me catches you...

Question: Can I rob your house while you're at Wal Mart stealing? Lol.

If the answer is yes then both of you will be guilty, Wal-mart will still be out, they will still pass the loss onto the rest of us, and the politicians will still be dishonest. Nothing gets better.

Since you run the store why dont you offer a tax free sale? Say like 6% off everything in store. You pay the taxes. Thats fair!! Like why not change your store name and call it The 6% off Store. Sell everything like Wal Mart does. Same prices as Wal Mart but you take 6% off every item. Ill shop at your store and give a finger to the state and the pigs.

Because I run a store, I am not owner. And I can change prices of some things , but even if I give you 6 % off...you still paid taxes ...As a store manager you can't overpower state and federal law. And I don't sell the same things as wall mart...most of what I sell is large ticket and wal mart would suck at selling as you need someone who actually knows that they are talking about to sell them.

No,, Go rob a rich mans house or steal his car. Like id would steal David Lettermans car if i had the chance. Or id would steal Derrick Jeters car if i had the chance.

David Lettermans car

If either of you steal from a rich man then you will still be guilty, you risk going to jail and hurting the ones who love you, costing taxpayers the cost of your incarceration, politicians will still not be honest, and nothing gets better.

If the rich man is innocent then it is a crime against an innocent man. If the rich man is guilty of something then the crime against him is still not justice. The correct solution is not to steal from the rich man whether he is guilty or not but for the state to prosecute him and you when and only when guilty. Then things get better.

I'd rather you know what it's like to be stolen from, since you're the one that thinks it's O.K.

No fan of either guy you mentioned, but at least they worked for what they have.

However, your answer for your problems isn't new. It's always been the answer for those who don't have and apparently can't get for themselves.

Given the time and the talents Steveox demonstrates by posting here he does have enough skills to earn money.

Being poor is not a justified excuse for Steveox nor is it for other people who are poor whether they are able bodied or not.

There's a difference between stealing from a multi-millionaire business and man who uses excessive amounts of money because he can and stealing from the majority of people who struggle to pay their bills because of the bad choices made by our Government and businesses.

If I were to steal from the likes of Wal Mart, it's either a personal rebellious act to defy the capitalistic greedy perception they have on life or because I am struggling to afford the items in question. Let me ask you, what is wrong with either of these reasons? The amount of profit made on each item will more than enough cover up the cost of the item(s) you've stolen, hence if the corporation is ****ing you over, why not act against that?

Stealing is equally wrong if one steals from walmart or the rich or a regular guy. In all cases stealing ignores that property can be owned. All stealing is a crime against all people who own something as well as against the person who actually suffers the loss.

If the person who is stolen from is rich or capitalistic it is still stealing. If the person makes a large profit or a small one it is still stealing. If the person suffers a lot or a little it is still stealing.

If a person is guilty of something the solution is not to steal from him but to have him arrested. If he has a bad materialistic attitude the solution is still not to steal from him.

Struggling to pay your bills is still not justification to steal from someone else even if they are nasty or criminals themselves.

and once again we see why Steve hates cops...

Funny how someone who crys about wanting good old tv back with its better values...seems to always be talking about he is breaking the law...

My company is a fairly large company ( 400 stores, in many states) so does that make it ok to steal from them? its run by a rich board of investors all loaded with cash. So must be right?

Now you walk in and you steal something...you know whos paycheck that comes out of? mine..since I run the store I am held to account for that. back a few years ago before I was running my own store..I had a guy steal something fairly large...It almost cost my boss at that store, his Bonus check for the month ( from that he gave me my own bonus as well) That guy who thought he was stealing from some big faceless company...realy stole from US...that Bonus money was a quite a bit. I don't know how much but last month mine was about 900 bucks at a much smaller store during slow time of the year...so I would guess 1500-2000 almost. Also I almost was fired.

But don't worry, it just was stealing from a rich company

Is the basis of your dislike of stealing only that YOU will suffer? Or is there a greater principle here?

I find it disgusting that the corporation (those who own that which is stolen), shift the cost to the employees (who do not own the goods stolen), at the store. I am sure that the corporation could buy insurance to cover the loss, but it is cheaper to screw the employee for what should be the corporation's loss.
If I were rich enough to employee a chauffeur, I could then charge him for the car if it were carjacked. After all, the car was his responsibility.

That is the corporations incentive to the managers to control theft (especially since at some companies most theft probably originates from the managers and other employees). The managers know the deal before they accept the job and since they still accept it they must think they still have a better deal than they can get anywhere else.

We should also note that the money came from the managers bonus. If the system was described accurately, one way of looking at it is that the company is actually paying the manager the bonus for not having theft rather than charging them for having theft.
