You post a theory so let me post a theory. We know Ted Kennedy contacted his friends in Russia for their assistance in helping him defeat Reagan in the1984 election. Jesse Helms was also running for reelection in 1984 and Kennedy despised Helms. In Sept. 1983 a Russian jet shot down a KLM jetliner they mistakenly thought had Jesse Helms on board. They were wrong. Jesse Helms was on a sister KLM jetliner just 30 minutes behind the one the Russians shot down for no justifiable reason.

Who is "we"? When did Ted Kennedy run against Reagan? In 1984, Reagan unfortunately defeated the far far more competent Walter Mondale. Ted Kennedy never ran for president.

The Soviets shot down a KOREAN airliner that had strayed over Russian airspace. KLM is a Dutch company.

Offing Jesse Helms was hardly a bad idea. He was one putrid, hateful racist. But geting rid og Helms was not going to help Ted Kennedy win the Presidency. He was not running.

That is what the Russians claimed but even if the Russians had not targeted the plane as the transcripts show, the downing of a passenger plane for that reason is still a very serious crime against humanity akin to a war crime. Two Korean planes carried American officials that night and Helms was on the 2nd plane, not the 1st one.

Exactly my point. Getting rid of Helms would 'help' the Democrat party in Congress, not just in elections. Democrats like Ted Kennedy who were in league with Russians in attempting to pervert the 1984 presidential election could have easily worked together with their Russian contacts to take out a leading Republican Senator who was a major obstacle to their political power and agendas.

Helms was an evil racist SOB. Ted Kennedy never ran for president, and it is clear to intelligent people everywhere that Mondale would have been a far better president than Bush and his henchman Cheney. Perhaps 9-11 would never have happened, and the US would not have invaded Iraq, which resulted in a number of disasters in Iraq and Syria.

At NO POINT was any KLM plane ever shot down by Soviets. The plane that was shot down was over Soviet airspace, probably in error. There is zero evidence that it was shot down because the Soviets thought Helms was on board.

You seem to believe every stupid conspiracy than comes down the pike.
