Obamaconomy!!!

What's sad is that Obama has put much of the stimulus spending towards green
jobs, which are a scam.

Green jobs are part of the unemployment problem.

After the latest bad unemployment report came out
Obama immediately announced that the U.S. government was going to
spend another $2.3 billion on tax credits for “green jobs.”

So his current jobs plan is to continue his policy that has been a failure for real people!
Jobs aren't coming back under Obama and I don't think he wants them to.

It was interesting that he used a conservative policy (tax credits) to spur green jobs though.
Green job economy is a farse.
Biden has stated that green jobs will more than likely be unionized.

What that means is the comapanies that will attempt to make batteries and solar panels and other green technology will not be able to compete with the countries like India and China.

Another example of how Obama and his staff haven't got a clue about creating anything but despair!!

to invade india/china/brazil.... to parchute in and put filters on all the exhausts at the factorys.

There are two reasons for "green jobs": One, of course, is the theory of AGW, which is by far the lesser of the two. The other is the imminent peaking of other energy sources, by far the more important of the two. Our survival depends on a combination of cutting energy use and harvesting solar energy (even wind is solar-powered, by the way). Otherwise, we've got to get nuclear fusion workable or we're toast in terms of one h*lluva' widespread war.

Anyhow, for those of you living in California, turns out there's a law that forces employers to post or file any planned layoffs some 60 days or more before implementing them. Here's an interesting link to check your city or company to see if any such filings have been made:

http://www.mercurynews.com/business/ci_12277251?nclick_check=1

You can click the "2010" button only, leaving the "city" and "company" blocks empty, and it will list all current such filings for the entire state. You can then click the headings of the columns to sort the batch alphabetically by city or company, or numerically by layoff quantity or date. Neat tool.

we are far from any solutions to new energy renderig the only green jobs to be R&D, there just are not so many of them.

might as well open up domestic oil and natural gas and clean coal to get people working while we figure out whats next.

Well, increasing efficiencies of production and manufacture is actually a "green" thing to do. For instance, there was a lot more energy sunk into a clock many decades ago than there is now even though a windup clock doesn't require batteries or electricity to function--just for the mining and refining of the metals required, the energy to form the parts and to ship the heavier product around the country for distribution.

What virtually everyone fails to grasp is the longterm view of the economy as a whole--it requires "prescience" or "foreknowledge" of what the realities will be later. Nobody really has that, you know. For instance, how do you predict the future of phosphorus production 10 years down the road if you don't know with any certainty how much economically-extractable material is left? And if the reality is that we've passed the peak of phosphorus production, which in turn will negatively exponentially affect agriculture, what do you do... legislate a population reduction? Across all countries?

The point is, everybody's getting mad at everybody else for results due to almost everybody else's inability to see the future clearly. That statement right there would appear on first look to be very subjective, but I base it on some pretty hard numbers applied from predictive models that have proved to be very reliable since their incept. When quantifiable reality stubbornly continues to match predictive models, you need to start paying very close attention to what the ultimate conclusions of those models portend.

And plan for it.

And generate policy based on them.

Or else.

Obama Socialism Hurts Jobs:

NEW YORK (AP) -- Wal-Mart Stores Inc. will cut about 11,200 jobs at Sam's Club warehouses as it turns over the task of in-store product demonstrations to an outside marketing company.

The move is an effort to improve sales at Sam's Club and comes on top of a decision to close 10 underperforming warehouse locations, which cost 1,500 jobs.

The cuts represent about 10 percent of the warehouse club operator's 110,000 staffers across its 600 stores. That includes 10,000 workers, mostly part-timers, who offer food samples and showcase products to customers. The company also eliminated 1,200 workers who recruit new members.

Doesn't matter what the reason, it's more proof Obama is destroying jobs.

I'm guessing this news puts a big smile on Obama's face.
He really dislikes Walmart.

Jan 25: Existing Home Sales down 16.7%

Zacks, On Monday January 25, 2010, 10:26 am EST

Existing Home Sales decreased to a 5.45 million annual pace, down 16.7%, more than the expected decrease to 5.94 million, for December from the 6.54 million pace reported in November.

Just remember your middle class taxes are going up to support this decrease in home sales.

It's called CHANGE!

I am guessing this has been posted elsewhere by someone as equally as intelligent as me:), but it is worth another look.

This is a dramatic difference from all previous presidents and is proof of BO's radical associations and beliefs.

The business of America IS business. The business of BO IS Marxism.

I don’t think private sector experience helps people be better little busy bee government activists. But perhaps private sector experience would generally tamper down the urge in people to be so activist in their government positions. Call me crazy, but I think this chart is probably the single most damning piece of evidence to show that the Obama Administration is, more than any other previous democrat administration, full of dedicated, career leftists.

Wages and benefits rise weak 1.5 percent in 2009
Wages and benefits rise in 2009 by smallest amount on records going back 27 years

By Martin Crutsinger, AP Economics Writer , On Friday January 29, 2010, 8:35 am

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Wages and benefits paid to U.S. workers posted a modest gain in the fourth quarter, ending a year in which recession-battered workers saw their compensation rise by the smallest amount on records going back more than a quarter-century.

The Labor Department said that wages and benefits rose by 0.5 percent in the three months ending in December. For the entire year, wages and benefits were up 1.5 percent, the weakest showing on records that go back to 1982.

The anemic compensation gains have raised concerns about the durability of the economic recovery. The fear is that consumer spending, which accounts for 70 percent of economic activity, could falter if households don't have the income growth to support their spending.

The GDP number that Obama was bragging about yesterday to the Republicans is not so wonderful!!

Just another Obama and liberal media lie, he knows better!

Unemployment rose in most cities and counties in December, signaling that companies remain reluctant to hire even as the economy recovers.

The unemployment rate rose in 306 of 372 metro areas, the Labor Department said Tuesday. The rate fell in 41 and was unchanged in 25. That's worse than November, when the rate fell in 170 areas, rose in only 154 and was unchanged in 48.

Note Obama was bragging about how well the economy was growing over the past few days!
