Politicians get a bump when they look Presidential following a disaster, or some other big event -- this quickly evaporates when they return to campaign mode -- I believe we saw it in 1994 to a degree.
we can hope that the whining coming out of the area shows that this has been managed ham handedly by the feds in particular. I have to wonder if Bloomberg won't pay a price for his gross mishandling of the marathon.

Blooming idiot will be despised. Not just over the marathon either. All his stupid nanny garbage has already got him disliked by many. With another nor'easter due on Wednesday and the people without power get a another set-back his name will be mud. I bet those people won't see much progress until after the spring thaw, if then.

Speaking in terms of campaign strategy, I would think Obama's best move these last few days before election would be in the Northeast looking like he is bringing help to area caused by the storm. The TV would show him out acting presidential, and I think he could probably expedite Federal aid to the area - that's what happens when the president calls on the phone.
Instead, he is out doing the same old thing that he has been doing for the past 6 months. People are really tired of this campaign - both candidates. Everything has been said a thousand times by both candidates. So pounding the stump is not going to help him.
In fact, I am surprised that Romney is not in the Northwest talking to his large corporate supporters to help out. That is the place for a Presidential candidate to be at the moment. No need to fly to Ohio - they are sick of it, I'm sure.

I pray nightly Bloomberg will be swept down the National Toilet with all the rest of the bizarre and disgusting left-wing garbage that has infested government all over the nation in recent times.
The Great National Liberal Experiment--is coming to its end.
I'll be glad to see him gone and an end to his odious gun obsession here in the Old Dominion.

It just seems New York City always gets crazy Mayors and the whole place is kinda crazy. If Bloomberg goes, another crazy Mayor will take his place. Sorry, it's not my kind of town.

Housing Projects full of non-working breeders who suck up all the cash and increase their numbers at an astonishing rate. Welfare everything. Nanny state tells everyone when to wipe their ass. No self-reliance or dignity allowed! Education is a mere nuisance to these people. Sycophants and slaves to the democrat party. Free food and a shack in a hell-hole of crime for your vote. Wreck lives with drugs. It is the quintessence of being anti-American.

I hope everyone watched tonight on the mainstream media at the Dog & Pony Show put on by democrats rushing like evangelists to help out sinners on Staten Island, with gifts for all that appeared in front of the cameras. All problems solved!

I know some people were sick, and related more to rabbid rats and vultures than men. . .but this is sick!
Politicizing a disaster of this amplitude, and getting a thrill out of people (any person's!) misfortune is evil.
I hope you and your little friends are proud of yourself.
In the meantime, and although there is NO WAY a disaster covering this broad of an area can be resolved in 4 days, it is clear that the assistance and the COOPERATION between all the rescuers has gone BY PARTISAN.
You have ONE good, honest man in the Republican party, a man who put his country above partisanship, and is not afraid to "give to Cesar what belongs to Cesar," Christie said it best, and he will probably benefit from having been honest about the GREAT JOB President Obama has done as a leader to PREPARE and to ADDRESS this disaster.
Everything else is crap that you seem to enjoy spreading all over your face!
