usually, the choice of a VP comes down to POLITICS - who can help the president win the election? In that case, its often a case of "balancing the ticket"...ie, north vs south, east vs west, old vs young, male vs female (recently anyway), governor vs senator, national vs international experience etc...or perhaps from a key state that the president is a lot less likely to carry otherwise (typically a larger swing state).

In this regard, lake is fairly pathetic. Yes, she is a younger female, so that provides some balance, but she has zero political experience, zero international experience, she was a tv personality like trump was, she couldn't even win her own state. lol. Not to mention her mindless worship of trump and his election lies really only appeals to the trump base, who are going to vote for trump anyway. Which independents does she bring in? I can't think of a lot.

nikky haley would be a much better choice than lake...not only younger/female, but demonstrated leadership and experience. Unfortunately, she refuses to mindlessly worship trump and his lies, so that probably dooms her.

She is not qualified!!! She also lost her election as governor.

One of the reasons the republicans will not have control of the senate is because they ran less qualified people in key races.

I like her but she was barely qualified for governor of that state. Oh she was also a democrat a decade ago.

Trump was highly unusual. A person who never ran for anything before who becomes president. It is not normal!

If somebody had told me in 2000 that Trump would be president some day I would have assumed his path would have started as mayor of New york the city he lived in.

We even have idiots talking about Candice Owens as a president. A 33 year old who has been a conservative for 5-6 years.

You guys can call me a racist all you want but why would republicans trust a black person after what happened to Michael Steele and Colin Powell? Desantis/Haley would be a great ticket for republicans. She is expected to run in 2024 so we will have the opportunity to see how she handles herself and stands up in a debate. As an ambassador and governor she is qualified.

That would be a young energetic ticket to run against senile Joe and I bet Joe runs again watch. He can win the primaries without even campaigning.

I hate to say this but there is an almost fascist element to the way Don approaches this. He anoints Trump as the candidate long before the campaign even starts. Trump's star is losing it's shine with each passing month. I think the republican voters will reject him.
 
I would love for Don or anybody else to tell me that the events of Jan 6th and the American attitudes toward them do not hurt Trump politically.

This is not about personal feelings. Trump's ability to get middle of the road suburban votes is even harder now and he did poorly with those people in 2020.
