Why didn't god write the bible accurately?

Werbung:
I wish people would stop equating the impossibility of proving non existence with the failure to prove god's existence.

It is a desperate argument.

I agree, its not about proving something does not exist, its when you tell the world they are going to hell if they don't believe you, and want you to change your ways, that they should step up and prove something.

Maybe when people cease to use the argument that, since there is no proof of god, there is no god. That, too is a desperate argument.

There is no proof one way or the other, but there is more evidence in favor of a creator than there is that there is no creator.

there is no proof there is not a 4 ft unicorn in my closet, but I dont ask you to prove to me there is not one to belive you.

Actually I think that in the spirit of fairness christians should have to prove that there isn't a 4 ft unicron in your cupboard.

And every other potential instance of existence.

That should keep them busy forever on a pursuit as worthwhile as religion

If the bible is the inspired word of god why is it that so much of it is wrong, nonesensical and non-revealing?

I mean, why did god leave christians believing the stupid idea that humans were made as is rather than evolving from different species?

I wonder why there are no scientific revelations in the bible that were not obvious to the naked eye eg like our heliocentric solar system?

I wonder why he wrote about a global flood that clearly did not happen?

I wonder why he wrote about talking snakes and other impossibilities?

I wonder why he left man to claim that the bible has to be interpreted with no evidence to support one interpretation over another?

In fact I wonder he didn't just tell it as it is.

If you ask me god isn't much of an author.

I'm not a religious person, but I believe you have that a bit backward. The Old Testament was supposedly the "Word of God", not just "Jewish writings". And your reference to the "inspired word of God" for the New Testament is obviously from a Christian perspective to be fair. The New Testament was actually written by different people, and I agree with you that they have different messages and that we shouldn't take these things literally.

But...there are a LOT of people that do indeed take these writings literally.
According to Matthew, at the moment Jesus died, there was an eclipse and dead people popped out of their graves and began to cruise Jerusalem. The Bible instructs us to stone disobedient children to death. The Bible claims that insanity is caused by demons, and the cure is to locate a convenient herd of swine and move the demons from the crazy person into them. This will cause them to commit suicide, because, you know, demons.

God killed off all of Job's children and his wife. But believers say that was okay, because God replaced them with a new wife and children. That is a trick that barely works on three years olds and goldfish.

And every other potential instance of existence.

God deliberately trips up rebels who jump to wrong conclusions about God and the Bible, revealing their inward disdain for God.

Ezekiel 14:9
And if the prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a thing, I the Lord have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand upon him, and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel.

So if someone claims to be a prophet, it is because the Lord has tricked him into being deceived, and so the Lord will kill him?

So much of the Bible is written in this silly gibberish.
The biggest problem with fundies is they claim to believe the entire Bible is the literal truth as written, but they have never read the Bible..
The second biggest problem is that much of the Bible is written in unintelligible gibberish like this passage.

Prophets always claim to be believers. Prophets are never atheists or agnostics.
It is pretty obvious that no one can predict the future accurately.

Jesus, who is said to be God, said to his disciples that (a) he did not know the day or the hour that he would return, but that it would be before the last of them had died, and (b) that God the Father did know the day and the hour.

Was Jesus born in 1 AD? Scholars say he was born somewhere around 4 BC and 6 BC. The Bibel says he lived to be 33 years old, so he was died somewhere between 27 and 33 AD. How old were those with him? well if we assume that the very youngest might have been 19 years old, and that person lived to 123, then Jesus had to pop back onto Earth no later than 102 AD.

But did he return when he predicted? No, he did not. Was he lying? Of COURSE NOT, he was Jesus and a third of the Trinity. Trinity.webp

Modern slavery is still a major problerm around the world today, inclusing in the US in certain aspects. Here is God's condemnation of modern traffickers in slavery and in other evils:

Revelation 18
King James Version

1 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.
2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.
6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.
7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.
8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.
9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,
10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.
11 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:
12 The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,
13 And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.
14 And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.
15 The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,

Nope noth8ng there says slavery is wrong
God condon3s slavery

There you have it. Right there in the Bible, it speaks of slaves being as much a symbol of wealth as horses, sheep and other livestock.

It makes a BIG DEAL about how Babylon has fallen, but at the time it was written (about 54 to 68 AD), Babylon was long gone. The Babylonian Empire was between 1894 and 607 BC.

Babylon was of zero importance to the actual author of Revelation, just as Charlemagne is of zero importance to us today. Generally, the name Babylon was a substitute for Rome.

Maybe God allowed Jews to own slaves thousands of years ago but don't be fooled into falsely believing God allows sinners to force people into slavery today.

1 Timothy 1:9-10

Nobody can find God recommending slavery in our day and nobody can deny the evidence that God will judge menstealers when he returns to earth soon as Judge.

Of course not because god doesn't exist now or ever did. What a ridiculous claim.
