Well Obama seems to underunderstand then...

Its funny to watch Republicans try to talk about Obama vs Bush in the view of the rest of the world...what a little dream world they live in.

Lawrence O'Donnell showed a video of Reagan talking about "class warfare" in his time. . .

Amazing that the Right's HERO was totally in line with what Obama said. . .and there is a video to actually show it!

I'm going to try to find it. . .too interesting to let it pass!

Reagan would NEVER have been elected President by the Tea Party and today's GOP! Much too "progressive!" A Socialist, even!:D:D

Didn't find the video yet, but here is a related speech in writing:

"Here is Reagan from that 1985 speech:

"We're going to close the unproductive tax loopholes that allow some of the truly wealthy to avoid paying their fair share.

In theory, some of those loopholes were understandable, but in practice they sometimes made it possible for millionaires to pay nothing, while a bus driver was paying ten percent of his salary, and that's crazy ...

Do you think the millionaire ought to pay more in taxes than the bus driver or less?"

Oh, I did find a link for that video: It is actually part of the Reagan Library archive. Here it is!

Atlanta Journal-Constitution columnist Jay Bookman, in a blog post, looks back at President Ronald Reagan's 1985 speech at Northside High School, now ...

You do realize that the Capital Gains rate is not a loophole, right?

In my book it is. If one gets to pay less tax on "investment" income than on hard work. . .it isn't fair.

Every income over a certain amount should be taxed at the same rate.

People who make too little money to EVERY be able to invest (and therefore will NEVER benefit from "capital gain,") are in fact discriminated about, because they are cut out from that "special deal" that investors have.

And. . .I am an investor!

By the way, nothing to say about your Hero's speech? Was he a socialist? Was he starting a "class warfare?"
