If we own the bonds we are not stuck with the tab but we get to collect the interest that those bonds earn.

If the Chinese own our debt then they have a degree of control over us.

China owns the t-bills that bailed out those two. they will never pay back what we gave them as wel did much of it in the form of massively over paid stock. And we paid off the union pension without compensation at all, Should have let them go through chapter 11 like everyone else. but the unions called in their marker on obama and our grandchildren pay for it. that alone should be a high crime.
