People want leadership - and in the absence of that they will listen to anyone that steps up to the microphone. I think that is from a movie - but its an important political point. No one in the current field of candidates is stepping up to offer and real leadership or vision - hence we get a public that lurches from extreme to extreme with the circus that is Trump and Sanders.

I understand where Trump is coming from when it comes to McCain. Quite frankly, I would never vote for McCain again. There is no way that he should have lost in the last election. Unfortunately, McCain is just another mouthpiece, claiming to be a Republican, when in reality he's just another flip flopper.
The McCain ship sailed back in the 2000 election, IMO.
But the trump ship hasn't sailed at all, and never will.

I'm a bit late for the party but here's my two cents. Now what constitutes as a "War Hero"? We need a definition as to what that is. Apparently any soldier that sees war time is considered to some as a war hero. Others might say that they served in the military during war time but never shot a single bullet in battle is considered a war hero. To me it's just a label that gets thrown around. People who are real life hero's, don't throw that term around for attention or votes. Sure he was in captivity for 9 years, which is horrible. I can see why others would label him as a hero. But why does he have to throw around that name? He deserves special accreditation for time served, even a special medal. But to walk around and use that to get votes is a bit much.

Trump and his business friend Robert Kiyosaki went to military school. However, Trump didn't go in the military due to medical and student deferments. However, I'll leave that to other people to decide if that was honorable. I do know that Ted Nugent, the outspoken conservative, faked illness to avoid the draft.
Reminds me of the possible future first husband....

If his support of Hillary Clinton and other Democrats wasn't enough to make his fellow republicans doubt his actually being a Republican, being critical of the war shouldn't be a problem.
Republicans these days are pretty quick to point out that the Democrats supported the invasion as well. They'd gladly distance themselves from that decision if they could.
