First the earth was flat then round then it was the center of what we called the universe then we discovered our own galaxy then billions of galaxy's and think we know how old the universe is and boom we find out it's got to be a lot older . billions of years older .What's next lug nut they can not explain it yet.So we make new discovery about old things fairly often .
If there is a god the only way to prove it is to die go to heaven or purgatory or hell or just become word food I can not prove .And science can not either prove or disprove as it has no clue .
