I am not sure how Jesus fullfilled the commandments or the laws. I guess you can say he did the first 4. He did love the Creator more than probably anyone. But the others. like how did he fullfill do not murder, do not covet or do not commit adultry?
He fulfilled them by completing the purpose for which they exist. The purpose of the Law is to show people that they need a savior. Since He is that savior and He has completed His work then the Law is fulfilled.
Here is a new test vs that was spoken by Jesus, I would think anything he said trumps paul
mat 5:18
"For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished.
The full verse:
"Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill.
Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or the smallest part of a letter will pass from the law, until all things have taken place."
So you are right that the Law still exists. But Jesus did finish fulfilling it as He said He would. The Law will still convict those who are under it (Jews or the circumcised). The greater Laws still exist too and still convict all who have done wrong. Knowing that you have done wrong is only half the battle. the next step is to want to correct the wrong you have done. Jesus offers an opportunity to do that.
Last I looked its a very sunny day but I could be missing something.
all is not accomplished, he still has to return, win a really big war, Bring in the new heavens, new earth and new jerusalem, then reign on it with his elect for 1000 years and a few more things.
Yes the Law still exists. Are you under it or under a more foundational law?
I think bible believers eating unclean foods, not honoring the sabbath is just that the group watered its self down broke in sects. Kind of like our country used to be strong capitolist but now liberalism and socialism are watering it down.
YOu may. But I think they realize that the Law has done what it needed to do in their lives and they have moved forward toward repentance and salvation.
Wasn't the topic about Obama's speech? ugh I am off topic again.
Obama gave a bad speech!!!!!!!!
I think it was a speech full of code. He said all sorts of great inspiring stuff but when one looks to see what he proposes to do to fix the problems he cites then he just offers more of the same tired liberal solutions we have heard before.
