The ROC used to act as a branch of the KGB by helping its intelligence gathering efforts worldwide in the late 1980s. The ROC’s Department of External Church Relations still works closely with Russia’s Foreign Ministry and Putin, a former KGB agent, sees the ROC's worldwide network as a useful tool to advance Russian interests overseas. The Kremlin's alliance with the ROC is purely political in nature and I don't believe Putin is particularly religious.

I was informed by one contributor that Putin had a Communist father but an orthodox mother. I am prepared he has thrown his lot with the Orthodox church. But I do not think there is Jewish led conspiracy. Russia was Communist for 7o years, It was not Jewish rule although Karl Max was born a Jew but atheist
