The racism of Uncle Ben and Aunt Jemima........Huh?

It is also ignorance. Which they want.

How many kids know the republican party was founded to end slavery?

How many kids know what the 3/5 rule was really about?
Republican ended slavery when democrat succeeded from the union so they could keep their slaves so we went to war with the democrats to stop their evil ways

Boris is 2nd from left.
You do know that 85% of Trump voters are white. That is not even close to the ratio of blacks to whites.
Yet is me who is racist. Sounds like republicans to me.

The blacks need the whites for their freedom. The whites needs the blacks to free them from their guilt.

Plenty of replies to that little gem.

So it is racist to want white people to vote for you? Why should I care if 85% of Trump voters or republican voters are white? There is nothing wrong with being white. Are black voters better than white ones?

I bet 85% of the people in the neighborhood you live in are white.

Are 85% of voters in Europe and Australia white?

I think the way to determine whether removing Uncle Ben and Aunt Jemima's images from the products was based on sales of not only these products but of all the products produced by these large companies.

These images depict Black people in the role of servants. Some people find that offensive. I doubt that even a few see it as positive. Isn't it smarter to use logos and images that look positive to everyone?

The racist brands!

Aunt Jemima.

Wow some real racist stuff there. A middle aged black woman with a white blouse or chef's jacket.

The brand is owned by Pepsi through it's Quaker oats division. Pepsi mainly bought Quaker oats in 2001 for the Gatorade brand and could have sold off the Aunt Jemima brand to any number of big companies like General foods, General mills or Con Agra if they thought the brand was racially insensitive. But no they proudly sold it for 19 years and are stupid enough to say they themselves are racist for doing so.

Today they sell a pancake mix called "Pearl Valley milling". I will never again be a customer.
I notice you dont mind being part of a political party that had slaves and created the kkk and hanged black people , yet the name of a pancake mix annoys you

Rapiers can say nigger! But let a white say it! Sick of it! People need to move on but they don’t!

Dixie Chicks to Chicks
Lady Antebellum to Lady A
He’ll tear down the White House! Slaves built it and it’s called “white”!
Take off all crackers off shelves! I’m offended by the word cracker! White or brown rice! I’m offended! Bla bla bla!
Any person today controls their tomorrow! Whether they are black or white! Earn it! Work for it! Go to school!

This is what idiots call racist images.

Tell me there is not something wrong here. This does not educate anybody. It does not help anybody.

This is racist also. The depiction of a black man smartly dressed as a chef.

Does the implication that black people work or have jobs bother you idiots? So not every black man makes millions as a professional athlete or rapper? Some work? Some cook? On youtube there are dozens, probably hundreds of black guys with cooking channels. Are the perpetuating black stereotypes? Are white people who watch, subscribe and like these videos being racist?
the concept of aunt jemima originated from the fact that black women slaves were basically the cooks and servers of white masters.
nothing racist there! /s
All races have cooks, famous and none famous! If people not pic everything on either race, everything could be a racial issue. Hell, people work for Walmart! Owners are white! Quit! It’s the people that keep it sensitive issues! I went to home from a Friday of school and changed schools that next Monday with blacks in first grade. We did fine! Cruel people on both sides in those times and cruel people in our times now and so forth so on. Always will be!

Companies spend billions on advertising, and the purpose of advertising is to create a positive feeling for the product among the public so they will be motivated to buy it. They do extensive market research to find out how the product can be best promoted.

Name brands are competing with house brands that are cheaper. I can buy Aldi's brand of pop tarts and chili for about 2/3rds the price of Kellogg's Pop Tarts and Hormel Chili with no real difference in taste or nutritional quality as is printed on each and ever package or can.

I am pretty sure that Pearl Milling Co discovered that they were not selling more baking mix with the name and image of Aunt Jemima on the package, so they simply stopped using the name an image. Advertising appeals more to feelings and emotions than to any sort of logic.
The change was not done because of racism, but because of sales.

You should probably replace your Russian-To-English manual. Here, in the Free World, it's spelled Rappers.
You need to work on those incomplete-sentences, as well.

Yes it was!

If ever there was proof of how moronic and idiotic this country is about race it is with those 2 brands.

Companies are always looking to modernize and update their brands and the way they sell them. They could give Uncle Ben or Aunt Jemima a new look. They could change the design or colors on the box and change their ad strategies. In both cases the brands were retired as they existed. One completely and we have been told that showing images of a black person on a box is somehow racist!
I seriously doubt any reasonable and serious person would say “showing images of a black person on a box is racist”.

So why did they change? Aunt Jemima was a brand since 1888.

Pepsi said this..
Our changes are in line with PepsiCo's journey toward racial equality,

So they think it promotes racial equality to eliminate a photo and stop using that name!

They absolutely said it had to do with racism.

As for marketing I'm one customer who liked their product who has not bought it since. I will never buy Pearl Milling pancake mix.

Look at the 2022 anti lynching law that was passed and signed with much fanfare.

We do not even have lynching in this country any longer. But so what? Let's create some bullshit narrative where racist whites are running amok hanging poor innocent black boys.

Interesting isn't it? In the year where the most lynching occurred in this country there were 3x more white people victimized than blacks. That was 1884. 160 whites killed that way vs 51 blacks.

http://law2.umkc.edu/faculty/projects/ftrials/shipp/lynchingyear.html

But let's pretend that it is a modern phenomena and a major problem in this country.
