I do not put much faith in "polls" however, a recent gallup poll states that only 21% of Americans consider themselves "liberal".

But, that is beside the point. Those who blindly support Obama and his anti-American, unConstitutional polices are supporting Marxism, whether they understand their position or not.

Some do .... many of the Obama supporters in Detroit, Atlanta, New Orleans, etc. believe this Country's Founding is racist and that the Constitution is racist and that Obama needs to do away with it.

Go to some of the news sites in these cities and read the comment sections.

And of course some do not realize they are supporting Marxism. These people are what Vladimir Lenin coined as useful idiots.

You quote only 21% consider themselves liberal, which is consistent with your earlier statement “Liberals make up less than 25%”. You also imply those who blindly support Obama support Marxism. Much more than 21% support Obama so in your definition they are not just liberal, they are Marxist. I don't need to research news sites. I used to live in Detroit, and I know what ignorance is.

I have not studied Marxism, but my understanding is that eschewing capitalism is one of the major tenets. I read that about half the employment in the US is in small to medium business size. These people certainly would not want their freedom of enterprise taken away. As far as large businesses, my gut feeling is that most liberals would not think that companies such as Walmart or Burger King should be run by the government. If that is the case, how can they be said to embrace Marxism.

Actually Lag ..... Liberals make up less than 25% of the population. Conservatives still make up the largest portion of our population by far.

I don't think it would be entirely accurate to say that all who voted for Obama are liberals. Certainly many moderates and even some conservatives voted for him as well.

However, liberalism is viewed by most conservatives as an extreme ideology. Liberalism falls far left on the political scale. The opposite end of where our Founding Fathers are on the scale.

IMO .... if you appreciate and support the US Constitution then naturally you would despise it's enemies.

However there seems to be 20% of the population that always believes something screwy. That is the bell shaped curve of wisdom and intelligence. 40% are Democrat
39% are Republican
20% are Indep/Other
2% Don't know
If both polls are accurate, only half of Democrats (and/or indies) consider themselves liberal.

Subsidize Walmart, McDonalds, etc? Don't you actually mean the government is subsidizing YOU? If they didn't have welfare, YOU would have to pay more for the product.

So, let's ask the question directly ... are you willing to pay up to 16% more for your purchases in order to raise the minimum wage? Are you also willing to divert up to 16% of your taxes away from services, in order to pay government workers an increased minimum wage, or more appropriately, willing to increase your tax load by 16%?

Try this research ... check out the price of a restaurant hamburger in San Francisco (where the minimum wage has been raised to $10.55) and then, check out the price of a restaurant hamburger in Philadelphia (where minimum wage is $7.25) ... the difference ... just about $2.00 more in San Francisco ($6.84 versus $8.96). Now, multiply that type of increase across all your purchases.

Oh, by the way .... $2.55 for a liter of milk in Philadelphia, and $2.83 in San Francisco ... Gallon of gas $3.27 in Philadelphia, and $3.71 in San Francisco

You can do this exercise as many times as you want .. and any cities you want .... the higher the minimum wage, the higher the cost of products.
