Pandora. Indulgence was just a short cut for penance. If you recieved one it was equivelent to say 10 years penance. It could only work if you were sincere. Only God knew this. So no priest could promise anything. The scandal of some priest promising indulgence for donations to the building of St Peters was a major reason for martin Luther Reformation. The Church has also reform . Although indulgence still exist they are rare and can not be bought.
The church doesn’t do it anymore; I said that in a prior post.

I do not think the priest can help in any way. I ask my Father in Heaven for forgiveness in the name of HIS son and that is how it all happens. I do not need a priest or a church though I am sure both are comforting if a person likes that sort of thing.

I do not use indulgence or even much penance o expect to go to purgatory.

I don’t think there will be pain or suffering for them. Just nothingness as they wanted.

It's not accurate to say that's what I want, it's simply what I expect. When the last synapse fires, leaving my brain devoid of life, I shall cease to exist.
