Gosh, you make it sooo easy.

If we loan money to Brazil they pay us back with interest. If we spend money here to drill for oil that cost more to recover than it sells for, we lose money.

So your position is we need to waste more tax dollars. Might want to re-think that one.

So, let me see if I got this right...we are going to borrow money from China to loan to Brazil so they can create jobs in Brazil and then sell us the oil. If that's the plan, I have an alternative. Why not just co-sign several private loans for wind, solar and nuclear energy development here in this country and create jobs right here in the United States of America?

You guys are missing the fact that we need jobs. If we can create jobs right here in the USA a lot of our economic problems go away. You only create jobs by investing in technology and infrastructure. Let's stop creating jobs and opportunity abroad until we get our own house in order.

Oh, by the way, I'm a tax payer and I refuse to co-sign that loan to Brazil and my congressperson will pay with her job if she doesn't start to step up.

Let’s break down the so called 47 million people without health care. First off, 10 million are illegals, 18 million make over $50,000 year so they choose not to pay for it. The median household income is about $46,000/ year. This brings us down to about 20 million people which is only about 7 percent of the US population. Of those 20 million there are about another 10 million people ages 18 to 34 who say they don’t need health insurance. So that leaves about 10 million people without it.

I wish he'd tax all professional athletes a flat 50% tax to pay for his plan and spending
and leave the little guys alone. Lord knows these US athletes could pay for it as they are overpaid!

Nonsense. American in that context refers to American citizens and legal residents. The bill does not address illegal aliens.

Moreover, we're paying for health care for illegal aliens now. If you like the current system so much, perhaps you're the one who is in favor of providing health care for illegals.

Further, if the US is a Christian nation, as has been claimed on this forum and others, then of course we'll take in our neighbors and give them whatever they need. That is what Christians do, right?

The Bill is intentionally crafted to not allow illegal alieans from getting benifits. I have no problem waiting until the Bill pases and just make you look uninformed then.

Illegals aliens are not covered in health care reform bill

One of the myths circulating is that illegal aliens will be covered under HR320, the only health care reform “bill” under consideration right now. They aren’t. Section 246 of HR320 says, “Nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States.”

That seems pretty clear. But critics claim that the provision can’t be enforced and that there is a loophole to allow family members who are illegals to be covered. They also claim that a “non-discrimination clause” in Section 152 would allow illegals to be covered. Not true either. The CNN Political Ticker fact-check blog states “that the first line of that provision forbids discrimination “except as otherwise explicitly permitted by this act.”

This hasn’t stopped Iowa Republican U.S. Rep. Steve King from releasing a press release falsely claiming HR320 will insure 5.6 million illegals. King claims this will occur because there are not adequate verification measures. Also, a Republican amendment to set a firm verification process was defeated by a partisan vote.

There are reasons to oppose HR320 — it’s way over 1,000 pages for heck’s sake — and factions in the Democratic Party may start to destroy each other over the controversial public option. As I type I’m listening to Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., bellow at a town hall protester. What a nightmare August for the Democrats.

But opponents of Obamacare need to stop using illegals as a weapon against the bill. They’re not covered in HR320. Anyone saying otherwise is either ignorant or lying.
