It is true that most things a politician says is manufactured. Few politicians would tell the whole truth otherwise they would not get reelected. But the once I met Seen to be sincere in entering parliament. It is the process that causes so little truth to be told.

I think the larger problem is few politicians could articulate the truth even if they wanted to - because they don't understand the issues themselves.

The problem with the idea if all politicians lie to get elected you are left with a dictatorship. That why monarchy is so popular in the Commonwealth. The Royal family does not have to lie to get elected so can compromise with their subjects like when Prince William and Kate visited Ayres Rock but did not climb it at the request of the aboriginals.
