Palin steps down as governor

Werbung:
Having listened to her speech, I have to admire her candor, and her dedication to the people of Alaska over her own personal legacy.
You can admire her all you like, but Sarah has never put the people of Alaska above her ego. It has always been about Sarah.
Given the current state of the limp-dicked, scum-sucking, dog-raping, gutless blunder, attack machine, lamestream media, and people like the vast majority of the libtard socialist DemoCRAPS on this board, given the unending string of totally unfounded charges against her (which have ALL been thrown out as total BULLSH*T)
Bob, you need to cut down the rhetoric, especially directed towards members of this site. But also it is typical of the Palinistas to blame anyone else and not look into the mirror and try to understand the criticism. Also, as for the various ethics charges, in the real and proper investigation she was found to have abused her power. Since then she has funneled all of the rest through the private personnel board. Appointed and potentially fired by her.
she had no choice but to step down for the good of Alaska rather than spending the next year and a half spending the majority of her time defending herself rather than being allowed to govern.
Again, her self depricating martyr playing is hogwash. This isnt about the people of Alaska, it is about Sarah Palin. While she has made some moves I dont agree with during her tenure as Governor, in many cases I have supported some of her policy issues. What I havent supported is her constant national attention seeking, and consistent whining when she isnt always given favorable media coverage.

This notion that she has spent a majority of her time dealing with ethics complaints is a joke. She spends the majority of her time dealing with her media persona. The ethics laws is something that she wanted, and she doesnt like it when she is questioned.

Bunz, with all due respect, it's obvious that you're one of the partisan hacks that has had it in for Palin from the word go, so why don't you try being intellectually honest and quit protecting your favorite libtards?

You try to admonish me for my "rhetoric", yet you say nothing about the blatant lies and mischaracterizations that are spewed daily by your like minded liberals.

As far as Palin herself, she's not the one who's been seeking national attention, especially since the election, it's your libtard buddies in Alaska, and in the media, who have consistantly leveled charges of corruption against her, and who have likewise consistanly failed to correct the record when it was proven that the charges against her were utterly fallacious. You say that in a "real and proper investigation" she was found to have done something wrong? BULLSH*T!! The investigation you refer to was pure political hackery from the word go, and it has since been totally discredited, but I wouldn't expect a dedicated liberal to admit that little fact.

It's one thing to strive for honesty in politics, it's quite another to use the law to assail a serving politician for no good reason whatever, which is exactly what has happened to Palin. Before she was nominated to run for VP she had the highest approval rating of any Governor in the country, but the moment McCain tapped her for VP, suddenly every worthless POS libtard ***** came out of the woodwork and made every totally unsupportable allegation in the books against her, and that's not counting all of the blatantly slanderous personal allegations made against her family. It's politics in it's lowest form, and Democraps excel at it, especially since they can't complete honestly and win at anything.

Frankly, when the next revolution happens, the same fate awaits you liberals that happened to the Loyalists following the first revolution, you're all going to be kicked out and sent to Canada....where you belong.

Re: Did Palin resign because of pending indictments?

There are has been a lot of speculation as to what brought this move by Caribou Barbie on...though not yet confirmed, things are beginning to take shape..

PALIN RESIGNATION 'DAMAGE CONTROL' FOR COMING 'ICEBERG SCANDAL' ... MORE: EMBEZZLEMENT INDICTMENTS COMING?

http://thinkprogress.org/2009/07/03/palin-hockey-arena-scandal/

There's something HUGE about to hit.

You find this and at the same time credible sources are telling Andrea Mitchell of NBC News that Palin is out of politics for good.

That's no coincidence.

And did you pick up on the nervous quick speech pattern at her resignation? It sure sounded like someone about to be indited or at the very least have a lot of embarrassing explaining to do.

Time will tell. But look at just the last week or so... Ensign, Sanford, Palin... the Republicant Party is dead man (or woman) walking.

OK, here is a few things....Firstly, is the link to the local paper which I think has better insight than most media outlets thus far. http://www.adn.com/palin/story/852419.html

There had been rumors that something was afoot starting Monday. Todd is a commercial salmon fisherman, as I am. Right now is about the busiest time of year for us. When he wasnt in town getting rigged and missing openers, it kinda raised some eyebrows. Everyone knew he was in the state, just not in the Bristol Bay region.

Well it turns out she decided to drop a bombshell. Now the big question is what is the motivation. I have heard plenty of speculation, but I think until something else really comes out it will only be speculation. So here is what I have heard...

Before I read the above posts there was the issue of her home and its building materials. I am doubtful that is the case(but have been shown to be wrong in the past). I dont think she would step down in this manner without actually coming under indictment, and probably not until she was actually found guilty of wrong doing there. There hasnt been a search warrant or anything to indicate there is legs to this as far as I know.

Then there is the proposed Pebble Mine issue. Her in-laws(Todd's Mother and Step Father) own the largest hardware store in the Bristol Bay region. Pebble has been a hugely divisive issue in Alaska. One of the ethics complaints with Sarah was her speaking out against a ballot iniative that would toughen mining laws aimed at Pebble.
In the meantime, it is long rumored that Pebble has been spending a considerable amount of money at this hardware store. Normally it might not be a big issue, except that the foreign corps wanting to develop this mine are spending a considerable amount of money on things not normally associated with industrial mining, and are paying a huge mark up on the goods(Think of $100 toilet seats)

Then there are a number of other legal based rumors, of which I think are a stretch.

My guess, is that she simply didnt want to deal with being Governor and Quit. Sure she might have aspirations for 2012, but her quitting like this is a big mistake in my book for the top job. She couldnt take the heat and quit. Would she quit if the NKoreans made attacks on her family? God knows what would happen should missles ever fly.

It is no secret that I have been critical of Sarah, but to simply quit like this is the lowest form of Executive office holders. I cant stand a quitter. So if she wants to go out like this, good riddance. Be gone, You Betcha.

What a LOAD OF CRAP!! I've been in the construction industry for over 30 years, and I can tell you without reservation that over 80% of the structures built in any 5 year timeframe will all use the "same windows, the same wood, the same products" because there are only so many manufacturers of specific products that are used in any given area at any one time!

This is just one more in a very long line of BS politically motivated attacks against Palin, because the left is scared abso-frickin-lutely sh*tless of her!

Dont give me that with all due respect garbage. I have seen your type all to often. Cant have a decent conversation without resorting to personal attacks.
You try to admonish me for my "rhetoric", yet you say nothing about the blatant lies and mischaracterizations that are spewed daily by your like minded liberals.
Cry me a river, this is a political forum, there is blatant lies and mischaracterization from all sides. Dont take the holier than thou route.

You have zero idea what you are talking about. It was the RINOs and liberals who got Palin elected. The conservatives still hate her to this day. It was when she became an entirely different person while on the national campaign trail that she lost her support among many Alaskans.
It's one thing to strive for honesty in politics, it's quite another to use the law to assail a serving politician for no good reason whatever, which is exactly what has happened to Palin. Yeah, you seem to have minimal grasp on the actual situation on the ground in Alaska. You realize of course that most of her harshest critics come from Republicans in the Alaska Legislature.
Frankly, when the next revolution happens, the same fate awaits you liberals that happened to the Loyalists following the first revolution, you're all going to be kicked out and sent to Canada....where you belong.
:DThats cute. We did just have a revolution of sorts. It started in 2006. Democrats took both houses. It ended in 2009, with Democrats strengthening thier majorities in Congress and winning the White House. The Democrats could have run the cartoon character Bob the Builder and won. You want to know why? Because the GOP screwed up. You guys had your chance and messed up so bad, you are relegated to sitting on the side lines and hoping the tide will change. Surely it will change, and the GOP will have thier day again, but it wont be for awhile.

Also as a side note, I have been more supportive of GOP candidates than Democrat ones. But after the Bush Fiasco I could do it. Then throw in the whiny behavior of people like you and one might understand why the GOP has simply gotten thier butts whipped the last 2 years. It certainly isnt because the Democrats are so great. Not at all, they are just not the GOP, and its base of supporters who like to sit back in an anonymous political forum and throw around personal insults.

I dont think the building material issue has much footing. But the materials in question are not what one would generally use in a home. Instead we are talking about heavy duty industrial usage items.

Oh REALLY? And you would know that how? And exactly what "heavy duty industrial usage items" were used in her home that aren't used in hundreds of thousands, if not millions of homes everywhere in America? I've seen the interviews she's done at her home and I didn't see ANYTHING that was "out of the ordinary" for a home of that size and style.

You're still playing the silly assed "we've got to find something on her, and we haven't been able to find anything real, so we'll just keep making sh*t up as we go along, and the lamestream media will keep on reporting it, regardless of how much crap it really is".

Dont give me that with all due respect garbage. I have seen your type all to often. Cant have a decent conversation without resorting to personal attacks.

Tell it to your libtard buddies who started in on me the first day out!

Cry me a river, this is a political forum, there is blatant lies and mischaracterization from all sides. Dont take the holier than thou route.

Then quit issuing "warnings" when I sling the mud just as hard and fast as your libtard buddies do, or is it only "objectionable" when a conservative or libertarian does it, but it's OK when a libtard does the exact same thing?

You have zero idea what you are talking about. It was the RINOs and liberals who got Palin elected. The conservatives still hate her to this day. It was when she became an entirely different person while on the national campaign trail that she lost her support among many Alaskans.

You're so full of sh*t, it's coming out of your ears! She had the highest approval rating of ANY Governor in the nation, on BOTH sides, and NOBODY had anything but high praise for her until McCain tapped her for VP. Revisionist history isn't your strong suit, because there's too much evidence to the contrary, so don't even try it.

Yeah, you seem to have minimal grasp on the actual situation on the ground in Alaska. You realize of course that most of her harshest critics come from Republicans in the Alaska Legislature.

I spent the better part of last year researched her, and EVERY candidate, on BOTH sides of the spectrum (as a Precinct Chairman, it's part of my JOB), and the only critics she had in your legislature were the ones who lost their free cookies and milk when she cleaned house up there, so that BS argument won't wash either.

:DThats cute. We did just have a revolution of sorts. It started in 2006. Democrats took both houses. Surely it will change, and the GOP will have thier day again, but it wont be for awhile.

King George thought the same thing when he sent the troops in to garrison Boston too, but then again, being a liberal, I wouldn't expect you to know anything about history, or the Constitution, especially since you seem to have no problem wiping your butt with it.

Tell me another lie while you're at it. I lurked around here on and off for over a month, reading what people were saying, and if you were supporting GOP candidates, it was the corrupt ones that Palin got rid of, and then only because they were promising you more "bread and circuses" that the Democraps were!

As far as the insults, that's all you libtards are good at, so I'm playing by YOUR rules. If you don't like it, then lead by example, and perhaps I may consider following suit.

I own and run a construction company and your statement isn't quite correct, there are many manufacturers of windows, doors, and lumber products. If a public building was built and another building belonging to the Governor was found to have all the same manufacturer's products in it, then I too would be suspicious.

Your abusive language doesn't add anything useful to the discussion, blanket name-calling, like "libtards" for anyone who disagrees with you, makes you look silly and uneducated.

thats not fair it does add to it, it shows us that he is undeducated and silly .:)

Keep us posted Bunz.

IMO you are the Palin expert on this board. Being local to a story is a big help. Palin kind of caught people off guard running away like this... what's that old fisherman's saying? Oh yeh Fish or cut bait!:D

Well she's a bait cutter... a quitter when the goin' got tough. And that was the Republicants "best" pick"? Shows poor judgment.

The contrast with President Obama is striking. The Right made up every lie in the books, tried to discourage him in every way and continually smeared the man. Remember... he doesn't have a chance in the world against Hillary we'll even get Republicants to vote for her in the primaries just to screw him up... he's a terrorist... he had gay sex... he's a Muslim >>> oh wait, now he's just like his Christian preacher... he wasn't born in the United States... on & on & on...

But he never gave up. He's not a quitter... he's a winner!!!

Bet you'll break something factual on Palin soon from a local source.

Top Gun,

After listening to her whole speech, I don't think there is a scandal coming, I think she wants the freedom to build a war chest that she could not do as Gov.
Absolutely!

Republicans will be more-than-happy to see her continue her road-showhttp://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q52/daktari_Zamoyoni/DancingMonkey1.jpg, and "passing-the-cup".

If the RNC is smart, they'll get her hired at the local Gentlemens' Club (in D.C.)....giving lap-dances to supporters. Even the RNC wouldn't be able to spend THAT amount-o'-ca$h!!!!

Yeah....much like Lil' Dumbya....she'll let History judge her!
